View Full Version : Mom to Prom!

This particular bug (I think) happened once in my legacy with Clarissa (the mom, who was originally Bebe Hart) moving out of the family some days before the girls' graduation party because of the terrible relationship with the legacy founder (worsened by the mother being an autonomous lecher). The mom had pretty high relationship with her daughters however.
The real problem started when one day before the prom, when one of the girls got asked whether or not she wanted Clarissa to attend the prom and I clicked 'yes' purely out of curiosity . So everything went as normal with the girls going to the prom and one of them being the Prom Queen while the other was kicked out for starting a fight over prom-mates. When they got home, the one that had her mom invited received a picture of herself kissing Clarissa passionately! :faceslap: And if that's not enough, in the relationship panel, the girl was apparently "going steady" with her mom via a red connecting line....
What's going on?? LOL Has anyone experienced the same problem? My future sim families are gonna stay far away from Bebe Hart if that's the case.

The random phone call system does not check to see whether the two sims can be romantic before placing the "Do you want to go to prom?" call.
If you are not watching carefully when you answer, you could end up going to the prom with anyone in town.

I guess the game has a built-in Arkansas mod.

Well, they don't make phone calls. Though I would not put it across EA to make that mistake.

Yes, this has happened to me in 2 different families, where the grandfather called to ask the granddaughter to the prom. And in one of those families, he wouldn't take no for an answer and called twice lol I've never pursued it because the girls in question always had suitable partners (or in one case an IF-turned-real) to take to the prom instead.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of incestuous prom dates mentioned in the 'things that make you go OMGWTFBBQ' thread.
I really, really cannot stress how good a free banjo would've been with every sold copy of Generations

I've had this kind of happen recently. Had two twin sisters and another step-sister of the twins. They all go to prom. During prom one of the twins and the step-sister become a relationship O.o...I was surprised, but immediately assumed it was a bug since I had so many teens in the same prom. And surely enough there was a heart in their friendship tree. Haven't been able to do any romantic interactions on my end though. Odd bugs I get lately with Generations.

A few days ago in my game Agnes Crumplebottom asked her nephew Mortimer Goth to the prom... unfortunately I clicked no before I realised the right answer was yes!

Yes, both my teen sims, when they were single, were asked out to prom by their father. I thought it was a sweet touch by the developers and not a bug, glad I chose no! Then one of my sims went to prom by herself and the game recorded her as going WITH herself - it kept giving me updates like "Avelyn asked Avelyn to dance and Avelyn said yes!"

I've only had friends or RI ask out- but then I do seem to have a very glitch-free game. Also, I'm all for free musical instruments. A free banjo would have made the EP about 150% better.

That happened with my sim and her cousin. I broke them up so she could marry someone that was, y'know, not related to her.

   I love misunderstandings like these, sorry...
Once I had a deceased relative ask someone out to prom, but that is so much funnier!

My Sim went with her cousin, too! When it asked me if I wanted them to go steady I said no, but she still had her first kiss with her, pffft. They didn't end up being love interests when they aged up, though, and they aged up RIGHT after the prom, so...I guess Stella was just feeling particularly experimental that night.

Three of my sims are on vacation. The dad, his teenage daughter and his brother-in-law (who also happens to be engaged to his teenage daughter).
The teenage daughter is a result of an affair he had with a woman in Egypt (She was not a local; I put her there to mix things up). I then took control of the daughter when she was a child and took her back to Bridgeport so she would age up.
The third sim on vacation is the half-brother of the dad's wife (who happens to be Matthew Hamming's oldest child). This young adult male sim is also Matthew Hamming's offspring (as a result of an affair that Matthew had with a local while in France). I also took control of him as a child, took him back to Bridgeport and sent him to boarding school.
The dad of this daughter is a native of Egypt. I had him marry one of my sims (Matthew Hamming's oldest daughter).
So, these three sims are on vacation in France. I had put a school there, thinking it was a good idea at the time, so that the youngsters there could go to school, and they do.
Now, this teenage girl had already been to the prom back in Bridgeport. She went stag because no one asked her to the prom. She didn't have a very good time.
A couple of days into the vacation, I get the message that a prom will be happening on Wednesday. I thought this was weird because while on vacation you don't know what day it is, just how many days you are into your vacation. A day or so later, I get the message that her mother (who lives in Egypt) has invited her to the prom. I declined, for obvious reasons, plus I was still thinking there would not really be a prom.
Also while on vacation, she and her now fiance woohoo-ed for the first time. I use Master Controller, Story Progression, Woohooer, Relativity and Overwatch. I also had the young adult male sim propose to her (even though she is still a teenager, she is close to aging up). I do have the settings so that teens can get pregnant, although I have never had one do so. After proposing to her, he had the wish to have a bachelor party, which I obliged since his mother and grandparents live in France. I invited his fiance's mother to the party as well.
In the meantime, I decided to let free will take over and see what my young lovers would do without my interference. Well, he got her pregnant. I heard the music. Now what! Will her father be furious (once he finds out)??? :help:
So, the bachelor part got underway, and I have her painting. I get the message (from her) do you really want me at your big party? I figure this is because she is still a teen and the game doesn't think she should be at the party. So, I send her off to the museum and then the cafe. I then check the school and see I have the option to send her to the prom (again!). I do and she is crowned prom queen right away. Ha! But then she gets in a fight and is also rejected for a dance. ARgh.
Well, enough of my soap opera.
Thanks for reading!

I had a sim take his grandpa to prom just yesterday. I made the mistake of automatically accepting the call.

...and I thought I had problems with my teen now going steady with two people due to these phone calls. At least she didn't go with her mum.

Thank you all for this hilarious thread. Nothing better to start a day than laughing to tears. I've just installed Generations; your experience will be my guide.
