I am about to rip my hair out! I installed sims pets and had problems with it. So I uninstalled ALL my sims games and the plan was to start from scratch, no CC, no previous patches. Just clean install.
Problem #1 - tried to install sims 3 from the disk and it would get to the license agreement and then the install box would just go away and not continue.
Fix: called EA and they put all my sims games into Origin. I downloaded sims 3 last night, it took 8 hours so I went to bed.
Problem #2 - got up this morning and sims 3 was fully installed, however I no longer have internet on that computer. I have internet on the other two computers in the house, but not on the computer that has sims 3 installed. I tried using the hotspot on my phone and same problem. The computer is connecting to my home router or when I tried my phone it connected to my phone but then the internet won't work.
Any suggestions??
Update: Called EA and I am not sure what we did but I have internet again. We did delete sims 3 off my computer and he figured out how to get the game installed from the disk instead of Origin.
FYI - don't ever use the chat help feature EA offers for tech support. Them people are not very smart. The first person kept telling me they were having problems with pets and that my complaint would be forwarded to the right person. I kept telling her I no longer have pets installed and she just could not get that through her head. Finally she said she don't know why I don't have internet and asked if I needed anything else. The second person kept telling me I needed internet to run the game.. umm DUH!!! No matter how many times I told her that since installing sims 3 I don't have internet and that is the problem she kept telling me I needed internet.. ugh. Phone tech support was much better, patient, easy to understand and fixed the problem.
