Hi: I was reading this tutorial & it mentioned something about directx mesh tool & it not being such a great tool. I decided to experiment with it in milkahske a bit. well, the results were not so satisfiying as one doesn't have much control over which area of the mesh can be populated but, nonetheless it might have some uses I think.
My question is that when I used that tool, I notised that when I looked at joints section, there was no skeleton or any bone names there anymore they had vanished. Does anybody know what's going on? I undid that step& everything went back to normal.

What you're experiencing is normal - the DirectX Mesh Tool obliterates all bone assignments/skeleton stuff. If you use it, you have to redo all the bone assignments, which is a big pain in the ass.

Well i did experiment with importing another mesh& including the bones & then deleting it to keep the skelton but the bones were gone anyway. So, it's a pretty useless function afterall.
