View Full Version : How do I revive a minor pet?

Okay, so, like, I figured the "minor" pets didn't live long to begin with, so I set the lifespan super high and was just screwing around mostly, y'know, and like after I'unno, probably like 10-15 "sim" days, it said like it died and then if you put the mouse over the tree it said it "flew off into the sunset."

But bro, I don't like that. I don't play the sims normally, aight, I make my dudes like "magic" and crap and they don't die. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, how do I y'know, fix it. I noticed that the birdies even gained relationship with other sims, implying they're similar in mechanic, maybe there's like, I'unno, some way to revive it?

I imagine the plethora of resurrection mods out there will not do it. In fact, now that I think about it, the bird's spot in the relationship panel disappeared after its death, so I'm pretty sure it's basically deleted at this point. feels bad man.

any ideas? thx

Please stop saying like so much, it's very annoying!

And stop putting all those unnecessary filler words in your sentences. Remember that you're trying to communicate, bro.

Sorry, can't help you on the minor pets question.

Simbalena, did you enjoy the use of the word "plethora" in the middle of all that? :jest:

You probably can't revive it...but you can get a mod to make them live longer.

Thanks for the responses, yo. I suppose the birdy's long gone now but at least any that follow in its footsteps won't suffer the same fate--assuming I get that mod Madame mentioned and it works. I got bad luck with mods.

Anyway, yeah, actually, I need every single 'filler' word. Using ignorant slang in excessive fashion combined with my impeccable grammar make me appear far more interesting--because it makes people wonder if I'm smart, stupid, trolling, or wat?--which would give me more responses quicker. It seemed to work, considering this board is kind of slow. Again, thanks for the replies, yo!

As for your post, my guess is that you are an educated person putting on a creative spin to make things more colorful. I can appreciate that..and if that's how you want to roll, then I don't have a problem with it. (I have a masters degree in creative writing, and soooo I've been exposed to a lot of different writing styles.) It is non-stop spelling and grammar mistakes that give me pause...and I didn't see that here. In cases like those, I won't take the time to respond. I generally move on to the next post.

Good luck with your bird issue. I am thinking about finally letting my sims keep one.

I think there should be a comma before, as well as after, the "like" in the thread title ;)

And it's OK to use different language styles for expressive effect. We all do it... it's part of what makes language fun. The style-shifting in the OP makes it perfectly clear that the poster is not using the only style he's in control of, even without his second post. As in "I noticed that the birdies even gained relationship with other sims, implying they're similar in mechanic, maybe there's like, I'unno, some way to revive it?"

As someone who, like, says "like" like all the time in real life, I'm like offended by it being like lumped in with the other annoying slang like dawg and bro :) Like my whole family says "like", and like everyone I know. We, like, can't help it. This doesn't make us like ignorant  Although, it is easier to avoid saying it while typing...

it used to hurt my feelings when people got all grammar nazi om me for my lack of punctuation, and my lack of capitolisation, sometimes my weird spellings or phrasings of things. then i decided that for the most part, the people who were most hatefull about it were only barely less pixels than my sims. meaning they cant/shouldnt really be effecting my real life. i just cant kill them the way i do sims. but i can make a sim, name it them, and kill that.

i havent had a small pet die yet, i better find some wood to knock on... but i've had my cat "present" their trophies to my sim, and had the dog come running up and eat it before i could put in in my sims inventory. it was sad, i really wanted that turtle.

fixed it.

i had a friend like that, once. i pointed it out to her, then i started saying "like" now and then (mostly when i was just listening to her talk, such as: "hey SP, did you like, see that movie? it like, totally like--" "like?" "like, it--...") just to get her to parrot it back (it was mostly compulsive for her, but she knew what i was up to when i did it). :D

question: why would you want a small pet to live forever..?

fixed it. Isn't this more like putting words in someone else's post? It looks like a direct quote from ~MadameButterfly~, but it isn't what she said. Putting the misquote in bold only makes it look like M.D. was trying to emphasize that point - which she wasn't.

Enough guys. I dunno if it's a full moon or what but every thread does not need to turn into a slapfight. Knock it off or I'll be forced to steal all your socks and replace them with moldy cheese.

lol super curious what those 4-5 posts above me said

Anyway, though, uh, again, thanks for all the replies, brahs and brahdettes (actually I call everyone brah, even chicks, but I'm writing this to avoid that one female that always says "IM NOT A BRAH"), I ended up getting that mod that Madame suggested. I think I already made a post saying this, though.

Well, uh, anyway, it works, I'm sure, but unfortunately, my bird is dead and gone, apparently, and completely un-revivable, 'cause as far as I can tell, the game deletes the entity entirely. "Minor" pets, indeed, eh.

WEEEEEELP, I guess that's 'bout it. Oh, lol @ the person with the post about the word "like," but then shame on you for insinuating that I'm a troll.

thx again guyz

lol super curious what those 4-5 posts above me said We started talking about socks. I guess it was a bit off topic. That's too bad about the bird. Better luck with the next one (and let that be a lesson to the rest of us!).

"there is no spoone" --the matricks

(plz somebody get this joke for once) I hate to be a bore, but could you explain the "joke"? I get the reference to the Matrix, so I'm assuming it's the spelling that creates the joke, but I must be missing some other reference because neither "spoone" nor "matricks" is funny, connected, nor meaningful to me.

Haha, it's from a silly little flash that parodied Counter-Strike and its players. The guy in the video was so dorky he made his own signature--during an actual post, like I did--on a message board which said: "there is no spoone" --the matricks, exactly like that.

I have a very esoteric form of humor, I suppose. I thought the flash video was more popular...
