Okay, I have an idea I've been toying around with, and I've decided to jump on it. I would like to edit the in game freckles and claudiasharons freckles to look better on my darker sims. The game ones show up pinkish on dark skin :( Freckles run in my family even though our skin is dark; they are a few shades darker in a range of shades. I found daluved1's tutorial on YouTube, and I'm going to download (Gimp?) which, I guess is the best free program similar to Photoshop? Is there anything else I need to know or any other tutorials/programs I should look at? Thanks :bunny:

You need an app for getting your freckles into the game once you've made your textures with Gimp. There are two that most creators use, either CAS Texture Unitool (CTU): http://www.modthesims.info/d/364926 or The Sims Resource Workshop, which I don't use and know little about, but you get it at The Sims Resource website: http://www.thesimsresource.com/workshop/downloads

Working on the assumption that we're using CTU, you import your freckle texture into CTU as a Face Overlay and then save it as a .package file, and there is a good tutorial on making face overlays with CTU here (which I think is also by daluved1): http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:Basic_Face_Overlays

Good luck!
