This is actually 2 questions: First- how can I get the light to show up over the logs/flames? I read in one of Numenor's threads that it's possible to move the light over by changing the values for both light entries in the CRES. I've changed those numbers over and over again. When the fireplace is lit, the light still shows up in the same spot- which is on the chimney part. (If you haven't seen my feedback thread- the fireplace is 2 tile with the log part to the side. The flame and smoke effects were easily moved and are in the right spot. The sim also goes to the correct spot to light/poke/warm self.)

Second: Thanks to Leesester's idea, I've been trying to add a slot to the chimney so a wall hanging could be put there. The slot is fine but I can't put a wall hanging there, even with moveobjects on. I can put anything else there- a vase hanging in mid air anyone? Obviously, I can't change every wall hanging so it can go anywhere, so what am I missing to be able to put a wall object there?

Yea, this is an issue with the slots a BIT, what I was trying to do is to find a way to make the slot tell the object that actually it is ok to be here and on placement in the slot to change the objects behaviour in that one instance of it ( a bit like the NetMicro table I edited in my Move Over Dahlen upload). I was unable to get it to work in the slot itself, I would think that it was something that Echo or Mog would probably be able to figure out.

BUT, even if you can't get to work for a wall hanging, a deco shelf there would look good.

On the light - I am not sure on this, but can you use the light from a ONE tile fireplace so that it is only on one side of the fireplace?

Bah humbug then! Silly slots. Why can't they do what we tell them to when we want them to do it? You really need to get out of my head you know- I was thinking of going the shelf route if I can't get the slot to work right. That would mean editing the shadow mesh and it's texture- but that'd most likely be easier than trying to get the slot to work the way I want.

The light- I dunno? Would it work? Should I try it? Yes, I should. There's a couple 1 tile fireplaces sitting in my download folder.. I'll take a look at them and see what I can come up with. Am I really that anal that the light being off to the side bothers me? Yes, I am.
