I previously have downloaded the patches, I am not sure if I have them all...so, here's the questions:

a) went to the sims2 site, attempted to download some patches, kept getting a "404 page not found" :( anyone know if this is just a fluke? or has this been happening to others?

b) I seem to have the patches up to "number7", is it desperately necessary to get any others? Are there others? LOL I have the patches in a folder marked "patches" is that where they are supposed to go? sorry, it was literally years ago that I downloaded them & at that time didn't have much of any good working knowledge of proper 'handling' of the game. (example: didn't even know there was other sites like this one or any of the amazing things that could be done with custom)

Hope I have put this in the right place...I did have a look thru previous threads on this forum but couldn't find the answers...Thank you in advance :)

:sheep:

EDIT: okay, I have since gone back to the sims2 site & some of the patches are allowing me to download them (with mild difficulty of course), so the question is: How can I tell if I have actually run the patches? I remember downloading them but I seriously doubt that I installed them properly (probably didn't read instructions silly girl)...

You can put your downloaded patches where ever you can find them again. And yes, the Sims2 official site is extremely flaky; if at first you don't succeed, either find another site that does what you need or try, try, again.

If you're not sure whether you've installed a patch, go ahead and try to install it. You'll get a message saying you've already done it, and no penalty accrues.
