While I wait for my laptop, so I can play sims 3 again, one question crossed my mind. I was using Twallan Story progression mode, but I don't remember that sims (nonplayablles) died from anything else except old age. I remember that there is death setting in the mode, so I was wondering is it possible to set it so townies can sometimes die from hunger, fire etc and leave an urn/tombstone in mausoleum?
The reason I want this is I like to play long games, that go trough many generations, and I always build new graveyard at the start for important sims that died. But all ghosts there are always white, so I would like some variations.
How about you, do townies die from accidents in you game?

I turned off the townie death in Twallan's SP, but I'm thinking of turning it back on. The only reason I didn't like it was that the sims didn't actually go through burning to death or drowning, they'd just get a simulated death through the SP mode (this was back when it was IndieStone, it may be different now) For some reason it really irritated when I saw some sim playing chess in the park and I saw a popup that he was hit by a bus. He just vanished from where he was sitting. I never checked to see if his grave was in the mausoleum. I don't know why, but it just got on my nerves.
Anyway, I had a townie drown the other day. I was playing Riverview and it was Bob Newbie all grown up. I am not sure how exactly it happened. My teen sim went out on a date at the local pool and for whatever reason, Bob didn't get out of the pool once he got in and he drowned while about 12 sims just stood and watched him. (This made me wish there was some sort of rescue option. I didn't know or care for Bob too much in the game, but it was creepy to see everyone just watching the poor guy die in front of them.)
Anyway, I don't think that had anything to do with Story Progression. I think the guy just drowned because he stayed in the pool too long.

I never had anything like that happen in my games, my sims always go old and than die, witch after long legacy games always leads that 50% of the population are elders -_-.
And yea, that IndieStone scenario wasn't nice, like you said, because the game could not simulate those type of deaths (death by car accident and so, no such thing in game) and sims would just vanish with no gravestone, they would just be deleted which sux. I think its different in Twalan mode thou.
