Direct to obtain opportunity?

At the "suppress opportunities" selection it says

When selected, you will see opportunity dialogs less often or never.
Opportunity dialogs will no longer appear automatically. However, you will get opportunity dialogs when you direct your Sims to obtain an opportunity or continue one to the next step.

Where/how do I direct my Sims to obtain an opportunity?

If testingcheats is enabled, you can Shft+Click their workplace and choose "Force Opportunity". No other way that I'm aware of.

I never noticed that before since I always have it enabled. Perhaps they mean the missions from World Adventures since they show as opportunities in the interface.

There are also opportunities like Amateur Olympics at the Stadium, or the grill-a-thons at the park. Those will have the Opportunity star map tag above the lot, and you can direct to obtain thaose opportunities by clicking the map tag.

I was hoping there was a way to direct my Sim to obtain a skill opportunity. I do not have time to make sure my Sim pick up the phone all the time. Most of the opportunities I get is not the ones I want, and then have to wait 1 - 3 days for the next one to show up... Bleh... Maybe there is a working mod out there?

If you don't pick up the phone, you still get the opportunity to pop up anyway.
Or, if you use Nraas Master Controller, you can choose the opportuniyies you want.

Thank you. I was already using Master Controller, but I was not aware of that option. That will make things a whole lot easier :)
