Hi guys,
I'm just posting this so that other simmers playing TSM don't get error 13 or other memory related errors when they save, causing them to lose all their progress since the last time they saved. :mod: Only use this fix if you have more than 2 gigabytes of RAM!
I was playing Sims Medieval the other day when I got an error 13 when trying to save my game. I remembered from the dark era of crashing and save game errors of Sims 3 prior to patch 1.17 that this was a problem of the game not being allocated enough RAM. There is a simple fix! Make the game Large Address Aware, or LAA .
I looked at the TSM.exe file using both FordGT90Concept's wonderful program, Large Address Aware, and CFF Explorer. Both programs revealed that The Sims Medieval is not large address aware, and thus is susceptible to crashing and not being able to save due to insufficient allocation of RAM!
Making the game large address aware is really simple, and you can use Ford's program here: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112556
Back up your TSM.exe because you will need to return your game to its original state before patching or adding an expansion.
I hope this is helpful ;)
