How do I find unicorns?

Are there like some special places where I can see a unicorn in the world which came with pets?
what about in custom world, do I have to place something special into the world to get to see them unicorns? :luff:

If you go into town view at night you will see a sparkle type effect. Go to that place and it should be there! ^_^

They'll show up on parks, the beach, or fishing spots, and they tend not to roam. Spend 12am-5am every night (when your sims are asleep anyway) in Map View and watch for the rainbow cloud to appear. It can take weeks for them to spawn for the first time, but after they do they should reappear every couple of nights or so. You'll need 3 BFFs to convince it to come home with you, and you'll need to be...I believe best friends with it to even be able to ask.

Auroras+Fishing Spots=Unicorn. I have remembered that ever since I had my second unicorn sighting! Edit: easiest way? testingcheatsenabled true and a certain mod. I have seen and owned uncountable amounts of unicorns this way and the normal way.
