I've noticed that people are able to get pics of their SIMS during Custom Creation. Is there a tool or mod for this? If not, how do people do this? I tried taking a screenshot but it only came up as blank.
Thanks!

The in-game C key works in Create-A-Sim, if that's what you mean.

To add on to what whiterider said, if you want to take a screen shot without using the in game screenshot key (C), then you need to run the game in Windowed mode.

Windowed Mode (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Windowed_Mode)

The way I do it is to go to Windowed mode with Alt+Enter, then hit the PrintScreen button which copies the screen to the clipboard. Then I minimize the game, open Paint and use Ctrl+v which pastes the screenshot into Paint, and save this as a .jpg. Later on I use Gimp or whatever if I want to alter the screenshot in some fashion.

If you're willing to download Irfanview, it could save you a couple of steps. I open Irfanview, hit C and then click "Start" (first time users might want to change the destination directory). Then I minimize Irfanview and run the game in Windowed mode. I use ctrl+F11 to take the screenshots.

It's a little dangerous with my keyboard though, because I have a function key which is right next to ctrl and function+F11 will put my PC into hibernation, haha. I have hibernation turned off though, so the computer just kinda shuts down for a moment. Should really look into re-binding that, but I can't be bothered.

A cute little tip I *JUST* learned last month was that if you press Tab while in-game, the TS3 interface bars all disappear, so you can see the entire screen without any interference ;)
