Yesterday night I had left my Sims 2: Bon Voyage disk in the drive for quite a while, the game crashed and so I took it out and switched off the computer, but I didn't notice until today that two rather deep scratches coming from the centre of the disk outwards, had appeared. I fear that the damage is too bad to have the disk repaired, so I had the idea to buy the 'Free Time' EP so I will no longer have to use the broken Bon Voyage disk, however I'm concerned about two things.

a) Does the Free Time EP take over the game? (Meaning, when installing 'Free Time', will this become the disk I have to use to play? (I have University, Nightlife, Pets, Seasons OFB and Bon Voyage installed)

b) At any point during the installation of 'Free Time', will I need to insert the 'Bon Voyage' disk? (as it does not work at all any more)

I'm so depressed not being able to play Sims 2, so any help would really be appreciated :help:

Freetime is more recent than Bon Voyage and will become the disk you use to play, as would Apartment Life or Mansion & Garden if you installed them. If you don't uninstall anything, you shouldn't have to insert anything except Freetime to install it - it works just like the installation of every other EP.

Of course, back up your game and Downloads folder, update your mods, etc., before doing so. There's a checklist on the FAQ.

You probably want to replace your BV disc anyway in case you ever need to install the game on a different computer, after a hard drive crash, etc., but if you get a later EP you won't want it till then. It'll sit on the shelf next to the earlier EPs, awaiting an emergency.

Standalone Sims 2 EPs on DVD are becoming difficult to find, so it's best to replace it now.
