View Full Version : Is there a crib sheet to explain how actions are scored celebrity points?

I am confused as heck as to how exactly sims gain celebrity points. The system makes no sense to me. I don't want to have to go into the tunings and dig around to see what's up. But if I have absolutely no other choice, maybe I will.

Here is my family:

Mother - 4 star celebrity. She got this from sculpting when she was level 5 or 6 in it. All she does is sculpt, befriend people in town and gets her pic taken when she's out at the consignment shop selling her works. She is fast working up to a 5 star rep and I don't understand how this is happening.

Father - 0 star celebrity. He is level 10 at painting and has all of the rewards that come with 30+ paintings 6 brilliant and 5 masterpieces. He can crank out several masterpieces a day and while he can't churn out the income that his wife does, I think he should have at least one star now if painting does anything at all for celebrity.

Oldest Son - 1 star celebrity - He got it when he maxed out writing. He makes more sense than anyone else. Maxing out writing and selling several books should earn one star - not 4 stars like his mom or no stars no matter what he does.

Youngest Son - 0 star celebrity. He fishes and gardens so I wasn't expecting anything.

Imaginary friend -2 star celebrity. This one is pure WTF. She's maxed out logic on the inventing table, but only has a level 7 in painting and a level 8 in body. She almost never leaves the lot and doesn't know anyone in town. I think she may have gotten it from playing golf with the SHT golf course. Which would be really weird considering that according to several people, the professions don't give out celebrity points - so why should the stupid backyard golf set?

Anyway -- does anyone have a clue how celebrity works?

Well, if your a nobody who becomes friends with a celebrity, then you'll start to get famous purely on the basis of the fact that you know famous people. I have no idea why the imaginary friend would have any points at all, and why the father would have none.

I think that the more people you know, and the more charisma you have, the more famous you get. One day, I was being lazy, so I maxed out my sims charisma skill. She automatically became a two star celebrity, and the two vampires she was best friends with became one star celebrities.
