With the latest fix for a premium content item posted here on MTS (The uber toilet), I'm wondering if any premium content item actually works as described?
My auto-noms automatic pet feeder has always been problematic... I've never seen any indicator that the autosensor is doing anything. My pets start rolling wishes to buy a food bowl and won't eat from it unless I click on it. Even then, sometimes there is no option available and I have to delete it, replace it and have my Sim upgrade the autosensor again...
The Not so Routine Machine I think works, though it doesn't appear to like one of my Sims. It goes through all of the morning routines with him (feed, bathroom, shower), puts him in his uniform, but then fails to transport him. The same machine, hours later, will transport his wife to a community lot. So I'm not sure if it's a "funny" failure or if the item is borked.
The Sharper Sims Supersleeper fills the rest motive faster, but I haven't really seen anything dealing with the restful sounds. In fact, I can't recall ever having heard them. It does appear to be more attractive to a Sim, since the butler is always sleeping in it and I had to evict the babysitter because he liked it too much and wasn't going home.
Anyone have any working stories about a premium content item?

I've never had any issues with the massage chair, pet feeder, uber toilet, chimes or super sleeper. I have been looking at the script for the routine machine though, because I was sorely disappointed in it. Also, the cow plant seems to work fine for most people, it's just that it has too many reasons to spit out a sim. Sometimes I have a graphical error with the cow plant after it has a eaten sim, but otherwise there's nothing wrong with that particular item.
Many people have had no problems with the Tree of Prosperity, also (some users who legitimately purchase the tree are unable to use the fruit unless they get a mod to fix it).
I think it's important to keep in mind that everyone's game (and computer) is a little different, so some people will experience certain issues when others do not. About a year ago I had a problem where my hot tub woohoo animations just kinda stopped working, and re-naming the sims 3 folder and then re-installing everything (including the same exact mods) fixed it. Merely deleting the cache files did not (I tried it multiple times). So, yeah. Sometimes EA really borks their stuff (namely the Spell Book and FOY) and other times it's not as bad.

Oh, I completely agree, that's why I'm asking for working stories. I did not realize that my uber-sans toilet was supposed to do more... But I hadn't really been paying close attention to my sims bathroom habits.
As for the Autonoms, what does it do when it's working? It seems like there should be something...

It really doesn't do much. You fill it up, and add the sensor. Usually once a pet goes over to eat from it it'll take a few moments before the feeder senses the pet and puts some food out. After that, whenever a pet is nearby, the sensor will make sure there is food out for the pet. Then you just have to refill it if it gets empty.

Thanks!
So the bowl stays empty until the pet approaches? My bowl stays filled...

No. For me, the first time I buy the pet feeder I have to fill it and upgrade it, and then the bowl will be filled when the pet comes near. After that it should normally stay full unless it gets empty. At least, that's how it seems to work in my game anyhow,

Mine also stays filled for a long time. It may run out and have to be refilled eventually, though - not sure I've played it long enough to require that!
Your other pet bowl that stays filled - are you talking about the special one available in buydebug? If your're referring to the regular pet bowls, sims are constantly being "called" to autonomously fill it, which may be why you never see it empty.

No, I meant the Autonoms. Aside from when I first place it, I've never seen it emptied. I might not be playing long enough. But when the pet starts rolling wishes to buy a pet bowl I check it, clicking gives me no bowl related interaction. Even with the pet wearing the plumbob I don't get eat from bowl.

The autonoms feeder does get empty eventually (I have had to refill it before) but sims can refill it autonomously, so maybe that's what happens.

The not-so-routine machine must be upgraded to let transport sims to designated place and not to other location, It sometimes take your sim in an adventure, it gave my sim some gem. the odd thing is, on my experience, I must upgrade it to with speakers then unbreakable and then the transport (or teleport?, can't remember the exact word) anywhere upgrade. (or maybe it depends on my sim's handiness skill)

My sim had level 10 handiness and upgraded the not so routine machine fine with teleport anywhere, and did not need to do any other upgrades first. So it might have been your sim's handiness skill. Even with the upgrade though, my sims would not always teleport. They would just come back to the lot. But I think this actually a problem with Starlight Shores, because my sims are also unable to teleport to school with the teleporter lifetime happiness reward (which is also upgraded). I haven't actually played around with it that much though.
