Is there a way to extract a town after its been uploaded in the game? I made a town and uploaded it, then made several changes that I don't want to lose but I need to re-edit the terrain.

I'm a little unclear as to what changes you made, but if you mean sims or lots, you can save them to the bin in edit town mode. Then you should be able to make your terrain changes in your CAW file, reexport & reinstall, then add your saved sims/lots from the bin in edit town. You'll lose your game progress, though binned sims seem to retain some relationship data, as long as the other sim is reinstalled, also.

It is a method to extract a full neighborhood which works for me to extract Twinbrook and Bridgeport for research purpose...if you don't mind on fiddling with the s3pe
I assume that method also works with your uploaded town

Thanks for the advice, I'll try it out. And the changes I made were with the world editor in the actual game. In actually playing the town, there was a lot of things that I wanted to tweak or change but the terrain has been driving my crazy and it's not one of the things I can alter in-game.

Our thread for this is here:

There are two methods there so if one fails try the other!
Your in-game changes that you made with world editor won't carry over though; it's not possible to get savegame information into a world file. I've tried lots of things, but without any luck!
