So I was reading the article, Downloading for Fracking Idiots And it says to need winRAR to open the files for modding the sims, the only problem is, is that you need to pay for winRAR according to the website... is there any other way to use the files I have downloaded for sims 2? I am new to using this website, so I am not exactly sure how to get the characters/outfits to my game >.<

You don't have to pay for WinRAR, it will just nag you occasionally if you don't. If you would still rather not use WinRAR, you can also use 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/download.html) instead.

Thank you so much ^-^ Also, I was wondering how do you deal with package files?

That's all in the guide - but basically, you just dump them in the appropriate folder and that's it. :)

To bypass the "Register Now" thing on winRAR, what you can do is right-click on the rar file and select one of the Extract options from the drop-down menu. Then the free version is no hassle at all! You can also do this with multiple rar files; so if you have a bunch you've just downloaded, select them all, right-click, and you can extract them all at once.

Download the version which matches your computer.

If you want us to tell you which version, we'll need to know something about your computer.
