View Full Version : Why won't BodyShop Installer install my Sims2Pack downloads??

I downloaded TONS of stuff from the Exchange (http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/) like lots and Sims. I used the BodyShop Installer to install the downloads, and it said that the content was successfully installed but when I opened BodyShop, the Sims I "installed" weren't there (they were all teens and I had the expansion packs required) and the lots weren't where they were supposed to be either! I tried Migamoo's Clean Installer thing but that didn't work either, and yes, I DID press "Ok". How do I fix this??

Migamoo? MIGAMOO??? ;)

What happens when you try to use the Clean Installer? Do you get an error message? Could you show us each of the screens that are displayed?

Sorry, I got confused of the names because they were so similar! Anyway, there was no error message. I browsed the Downloads folder and checked everything to make sure it was all installed, and then I pressed "Ok". Nothing happened after that, so I closed it, assuming it was installed, and I opened BodyShop and then the game and none of the Sims2Pack items I "installed" were there.

You cannot install a Sims2Pack by browsing your Downloads folder.

Instead, double click on each Sims2Pack to open it in the Clean Installer. Uncheck anything that you don't want and click Install. Assuming that you want to install in the default folder, click Install on the second screen. Here are the instructions in the manual:

Migamoo... Still she makes good stuff and ah... moos too? :jest:

Maybe the OP means she browsed her Download folder to find which folder she wanted it installed into.

My advice OP, would be to stop downloading from the exchange. Put nicely there is a lot of junk you can accidentally pick up from there, such as hacks unless you are very careful.
With lots especially make sure you untick anything in red when you check it with Clean Installer and let it go to the default destination which is the teleport folder. Any CC you can send to another folder.

Well when I right-click on a Sims2Pack file, I roll over to "Open with..." and I click "Browse for default..." then I find the Clean Installer and open it with that, but a pop-up box comes up saying that I have to uninstall the older version, but I downloaded the current version, so I have no idea what it's talking about. I click yes and it tries to uninstall, but it does nothing when I click no.

Downloading a program is different from installing a program. You need to install the new version. However, the new version cannot be installed until you uninstall the old version.

There should be an Uninstall option under your Clean Installer Start menu. If it's not there, try looking for an uninstall program under your Clean Installer folder in Windows Explorer.

If the uninstall fails, please let us know.
