Either it just hates me or it hates Windows 7, because nothing I do will make this program open. I've tried deleting the accessories, registry, etc. files. I've tried opening it from every expansion I have. It just will not open. Any ideas?

I've used it on Windows 7, but it takes a long time for it to load. Like 20-30 minutes between clicking the icon and the program giving any indication that it's going to work. It's the only program that runs like that on my computer.

I'm using 7 32 bit and Bodyshop takes maybe 30 seconds to show on my taskbar. I like to pop open task manager and watch the processes so I can make sure it initialized. I do have UAC turned off--don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Have you read this article and try following the steps it provides? http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Body_Shop

I have Windows 7 and I have no problem opening and running Body Shop. Did you try restarting your computer and then try to open it afterwards? You can also try deleting the cigen.package and, I think, the accessory.cache files before trying to run the program; those two files will regenerate when/if Body Shop runs. Of course, if this doesn't help, just read the article in the link I provided above.

I just want to add that the Mansion & Garden SP has a body shop. I'm not sure if you have M&G, but if you do, that's the version of bodyshop you will want to load.

You made me curious, as I don't think I ever used BodyShop once I bought a new PC - I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit op system and started a Bodyshop just fine a moment ago, took me ~30 seconds to load it.

I have windows 7 and my sims games installed in the default location. I have never turned UAC off either, and my game and Body Shop run just fine. But patient is still needed! My Body Shop can sometimes take 15 minutes to load while sometimes when it has a good day just a couple of minutes. Itīs probably mostly because I have around 4 GB of CC. But for me to be able to even open Body Shop or the game, I have to delete the groups.cache file every second time. I suspect thatīs also because of my huge downloads folder...

I have Windows 7 and like omglo mine takes at least 20 minutes from clicking the icon to even show that it is in fact loading. I really hate that, so I always get up task manager and look under processes as it shows up in there. Altogether I can wait 30-40 minutes for it to load. Seriously some people only wait 30 seconds for it to load?

Yup - though it does take longer for me if I have *all* my skins in Downloads. I mostly use it for checking skins work ok and making my own. In those cases, I remove all the regular CC in order to avoid the longer load times and so I can find what I'm looking for more easily.

Yeah, I read that FAQ/instructions thing, but it didn't work, so I came in here.
On my old computer (XP) it would take about 30-40 mins to show up on my screen, because I had around 40,000 files in my downloads folder. On this computer I have slightly less, and I tried to open it and left my computer alone for like 2 hours and it never came up. I don't know what the problem is. I don't have a cigen file in my folder this time, I guess I need to have open bodyshop at least once before to have it.

I have Windows 7 and it works fine for me. Just open the bodyshop from the latest EP you have and wait for several minutes. In my laptop, whenever I'm trying to open bodyshop, it always looks like it doesn't want to open itself. But several minutes later, it finally shows up as usual. It takes 5-10 minutes to open. Maybe it depends on how much downloads/saved sims you have.

Works for me on Win7, but you might have to change the compability to "windows XP" if it won't work for you.

Right-click on the shortcut icon (or the EXE file), choose "properties", then "compability", then "run this program in compability mode for Windows XP" (probably service pack 2). Also, if the game has startup troubles, this might be a solution.

I also have less than 1 GB of CC. Maybe that's why only like 30 seconds. :)

After installing Mansions and Gardens SP , it seems all Sims 2 content is working. Haven't tried, but Bodyshop should work too. To the original poster, have you tried going to your bodyshop shortcut (not sims 2 exe) and using Compatibility mode? Make sure you choose win xp.

1) open the task manager before opening body shop. If your comp is opening the body it will show on your task manager

2) if you are playing with M&G and have AL ep the body shop is opend from AL. Try browsing through your program file folders and opening the body shop from your different EP's.
