View Full Version : Yet ANOTHER TS2 Multiplayer Gig!

Hello Simmens!

'Tis Gwonlyeog. If you're on the chat often, you see me floating around quite a lot. And I am rallying up my men to play TS2 Multiplayer! Sounds complicated, does it? It isn't really! I'm working on strictly reinforcing the rules, but here is the loose version I have currently:

Okay, so, basically, I'll send you the town in this email, along with the CC that I used to build my house and my Sims. You install that CC, then you unzip the town, and plop it into the Neighborhood file in your TS2 folder. You'll have that 'hood! Play with your family for a Sim week, then pack the hood back up and ship it right back to me, along with the used CC. From there on, it's a waiting game as I ship it throughout the queue of people playing Multiplayer. :) However, ONLY PLAY YOUR OWN FAMILY! THIS CANNOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH. However, you may mess with walk-bys. BUT OTHER THAN THAT, NO CONTROL OF ANOTHER FAMILY.

I have around 5 people currently signed up for my 'hood, including me. This is the rotation:

Yes -- you just can't PLAY the families.

If you're just decorating your house with stuff from there, all or none. HOWEVER vacay lots and beach lots aren't allowed.

That is not true, which is why CC is tagged by which EP it comes from. The game engine changes with each EP, and lots will not be backwards compatible. It's stuff packs (and Uni, which functions like a SP) that are not required as long as you remove all the objects from them before you package a lot.

Alright I'm confused, I thought everyone had to use all the same EP and SP (like all base game or only nightlife and seasons) and have all the same CC otherwise it caused problems even though your only playing your own household and not everyone else's

Yes, everyone has to use the same EP, SP and CC.

What if someone decorates their home completely with stuff from Apartment Life but the other user has only the base game?
The next time the other user loads their lot all of their expensive AL stuff is gone and replaced with base game furniture.

HOWEVER!
You can avoid this by using Any Game starter. I THINK.

I'd like to join this. It's intriguing!

I wish there was a "multi-quote" button, so that we can quote several people at the same time in the same post.

You must decide which EPs are going to be used, including whether you intend to use Mansion and Garden or the Store Edition. If you decide to use the Store Edition, you must agree on the actual Store Edition version, since there are several different versions and they are not compatible. The Store Edition included with Fun with Pets is the up-to-date version. If everyone does not have the same EPs, then the game is likely to crash for some people.

CC which is only used in a lot which you are not playing should not be required. If each person plays just one lot, then there shouldn't be a need to pass that CC around. However, CC which is used as neighborhood deco or on community lots will need to be shared with everyone.

The AnyGameStarter will solve your problem by restricting EPs, but only if no one has downloaded EPs or SPs (from Origin, Steam, Amazon, etc.), and no one has the later collection packs (Best of Business, Fun with Pets, University Life).

If it is just a nightlife and celebration stuff game, sign me up!Just wanted to point out that this is a combination where the stuff pack is absolutely required, since it updates the game engine.
