First thing: I have all stuff packs and expansion packs installed properly. I can make sims. I can build houses/play the game. But when I go into Create a Style, the game gives me the loading icon thing that says “materializing materials” and doesn’t move from that. The plumbob will spin and the circle will go around and around, but nothing happens. I can’t access the menu, be it by keyboard commands or by clicking on it despite still having a mobile in-game cursor, and I have to eventually quit the game using the Task Manager. Just…wtf is going on here? It was working fine until I installed a bunch of hair colors from the exchange, but I removed those and deleted my DBC.cache things. This issue is still coming up.
Does anyone have a fix? I’ve spent the past twelve hours uninstalling, reinstalling, and patching this darn game all the way up to 1.34 with the manual patch from EA themselves, thinking it was the 1.27Build Error again, but nooooo that didn’t help either. I know this thing has worked before and these are clean installs. I have no CC or mods installed yet so I know those can’t be causing the issue, but every time I try to enter CAS, we’re back to the hour long wait that makes me have to force-close. It should not be doing thiiissss…
And before anyone says anything about it being a “bad pattern” or packaged pattern? I have no CC anymore. I moved it all away from my game directory and stored it in a safe place when this first started up. In a RAR folder. If the game is still reading it? I will hang someone. Heck, I don’t even have Nraas installed at this point. I tried to use CCMagic but stopped when I couldn't figure out the interface. I’ve used TSRMerlin almost exclusively and it worked fine, but now? Now I can’t do anything in this game. Someone please help me. ;; I've attached my system specs, but I'm fairly confident it's not anything to do with my hardware itself. Should I just give up on reinstalling after Pets? Because Showtime worked before, but if the patch levels attached to it are causing this issue, it ain't worth the trouble.
