View Full Version : General Game/Medieval/Furniture Questions

So basically, I'm making a film with The Sims 3 and something that rather annoyed me was a download I had stumbled upon.

I downloaded it, put it to the game, but it never appeared in-game. It was a throne. It was...perfect! I absolutely loved and needed it for what I was doing! It was almost a replica of the one I needed!

But alas, I lost the site and download; and it didn't install.

So I researched for awhile until suddenly I found the source of the throne! It was a download that came with the Medieval expansion. However, I'm pretty sure the original download said I just needed a mesh and no expansions (I have Sims 3 World Adventures).

The throne was either this one: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4078/4887970404_75d38817e0.jpg or this one: http://www.gadgetlist.co.uk/wp-content/gallery/games/tsm_princess_throne_preorder.jpg

So basically, from the screen shots I saw, I want to ask...

1. Is Medieval one of those expansions where it is practically a second game, do you get all the furniture and medieval stuff in the actual game or is it kind of like a "side game"?

2. If so, do you get these thrones?

3. If not, is there anyway I can transport or get these items into my game?

4. If there is no way, does anyone know anyone who can make custom furniture like so or would anyone be interested in this project? Or if I can get it, is anyone able to modify it or something to make it look more like what I am going for? Frankly the request section is lightly messy and it is hard to tell if people are still taking requests or even online any more.

5. Will I need to buy the Medieval expansion pack for any of this? Frankly I wouldn't mind but it might take a bit of time as I am so busy and swamped with things.

Frankly, the film I am making is quite a large project. I'd absolutely adore other people getting involved with it.

So, hopefully some of this catches the interest of some?

Thanks guys!

Medieval is NOT an expansion, you can get them in-game by downloading them like you did the first time...they're already available in multiple places. :) You must have installed it incorrectly.

To clarify, The Sims Medieval is a separate game from The Sims 3. If you tried to install a Sims Medieval piece of content into TS3, it won't appear, because it's the wrong game. You will need to purchase and install Sims Medieval if you must have that particular throne. Realize that because it is a separate game, any content you want in your film which is in TS3 will not be installed in Sims Medieval. I suppose you could create scenes in both games and then edit it all together, but I honestly don't know what video capture options are offered in Sim Medieval.

Oh right! Thanks! Sorry, I'm such a n00b with all these Sims 3 things. I got the game on release and then just never played it even though I was such a Sims 2 fan. Honestly it took me three or four years to figure out modding and packaging. Goodness me I'm silly.

I did find one throne for download, but not the one I wanted! I'll keep looking though! Thanks for the advice! :)

Go to this website:

and in the search box put medieval. Most of the converted objects will be listed.
