Placing second school

Maybe I shouldn't be trying to do this with a headache, but anyway I'm tired of the overcrowding of every child trying to get into one school. I have the Town Life SP and want to place the school that came with it into Sunset Valley, but every time I go into edit town then build/buy mode, all the lot symbols disappear and I can't place that school anywhere.

How can I get a second school placed so that not every kid is trying (and failing) to get into the door at the same time?

It might be that you don't have a lot big enough that's available. The school lots and rabbithole objects are often quite large. Are you sure that you have a big enough lot for the school?

If you do, not sure how to help, but just keep in mind that that your kids will attend the closest school by how the crow flies rather than road distance, so if you put a school on a side of town where there are barely any residents it won't solve your problem much.

Nuts. I looked a little more into size since you mentioned it, and it looks like that I don't have a lot big enough for it.

I would see about maybe using buydebug and using the rabbithole objects, if you can't place a pre-made school lot, and then fancy the lot up with some bushes, trees, etc. It'll take a little longer but if you have room for the rabbithole object rather than the pre-made lot, it might help you out.

There are also rabbithole rugs, if you're interested in mods. You have to update them with each patch, but they're the size of a rug and you can make your school any size that you want, even a 10x10 lot if you want.

Also note that students already attending one school will not automatically disenroll from that school to enroll in a different one, but I think there's a mod around here somewhere that might be able to help with that.

At the moment, enrolling students in another school is a moot point. I don't have a lot big enough for the school that came with the Town Life SP, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to use buydebug to get any kind of rabbithole thingy to set up on another lot. I looked a little bit and only found some of the rabbithole rugs for Late night (I have patch 1.31 and Master Suite Stuff, so I doubt that would have helped.)
