Hi everyone,
This question has ben asked many times before with the same answer, “no it cant be done”, says most. There have been games in the past like for example The Elder Scrolls Oblivion which was intended and released as a single player game, but some very clever chaps decided they could make a external client that allowed them to connect to each other via old school tcp/ip. Take a look http://www.moddb.com/mods/obliviononline, I have known about that mod for a while but it hit me that the same external hand coded program as a concept could be made and some pretty crafty core mods, hey presto you can now share screens with other player. Okay so its easier said than done, but how hard would it actually be to set up a second camera for player 2 and perhaps exploit the holiday locations in such a way that a second neighborhood that is in-fact a duplicate, one player would control one neighborhood and the other player would control the (holiday) neighborhood. (something along those lines (think nras traveler x1000). i think the only problem would be syncing the two together, but there are ways of doing this too, but thats the point you could be on the same save file, there is already a chat client implemented by EA with show time, perhaps all these new features could serve as a loop hole.
so what do you think?
