Twoftmamma has two different mods at her forum that takes care of this, depending on which route you want to go:

She very recently included the computer games as one of her Shut the Flock Up mods:

It's really, really annoying. I'm surprised that it hasn't been fixed in an official patch, especially since it's such a common glitch. I'm always hoping a sims will start playing a computer game during one of those live chats or something, then they'd have to admit there's a glitch and then fix it!

It is. Especially because I usually turn down game sounds to lower level - I like to listen to audiobooks while playing, then all of sudden my sim decides to play, it sounds like great BOOOM. First thought - WTF, second - oh right, again.

I hope they do and flinch from the ear bleeding volume it produces and exchange awkward glances as they all reach in to turn off the volume together and end up touching hands.

I usually just turn off/mute all the game sounds and play the game while listening to my own MP3 playlist.

I no longer allow computers on my lots. My writer sim would very much appreciate receiving a typewriter.

I usually just turn off/mute all the game sounds and play the game while listening to my own MP3 playlist.Even when I have the game muted, I still sometimes hear the video games. Same for the guitar. Very annoying.
