Well I'm still struggling with my Sims 2 after posting in a topic that my Sims 2 kept freezing. I didn't want to believe it was my graphics card or video card or anything besides maybe Local Disk C. Well I managed to get it down from red to blue and last when I used Disk Defragmenter and it cleared some space and I have about 11.0 space in my C drive but when I was trying the game today to continue to try and solve my issue it suddenly was red and nearly full. So my biggest question is does Sims 2 slowly take up space on whatever drive you have it on? Like say if you have lots of space can it increase (the colored bar) to make it nearly half full? If I'm wrong would the issue be CC or something?.. please help! If you want me to post system specs I will.

If your game is crashing, then you will be getting crash logs, which you can delete. You'll find them in C:\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Logs, with file names like Sims2Exception 2008.03.15 14.40.33.mdmp and Sims2Exception 2008.03.15 14.40.33.txt

If your game is throwing errors, you will be getting error logs, which you can delete. You'll find them in the same folder, with file names like ObjectError_N001_t42.txt.

However, you've already been told that your computer is inadequate to play the game, especially the later EPs. You are likely damaging your computer more each time that you play, so things are likely to just keep getting worse:

Although, you're right that it can't be your video card. That's because you don't have a video card. That's also why you can't expect to play the game on that computer.

Ah well.. everything goes bad for me all the time. Thanks for your answer, I didn't want to have to believe it was my computer but I guess it is.. and it worked for awhile now with the game. Why of all days now?.. Well... hopefully there may be luck. I was trying to play Sims 2 on my old computer which worked fine with it and suddenly I can't play on that, it gives me some sort of error before even starting, like when the game goes to the title screen.. Well looks like I can never most likely play until I get a new laptop or desktop even if this one is new... Why must you hate me life!?! :(

Just a warning: most laptops aren't up to playing the game, either. Expect to spend a lot if you want to get a laptop powerful enough to play the game.

Did you find any crash or error logs on your computer?

Ah yea I heard that. If it doesn't work on my old computer when I look up how to fix the error than I will have to wait for this computer to eventually stop working lol. But I can't complain because my old one stopped working and I just got a battery that I don't remember ordering so we may get a new charger and than sell it for me to get some money.

And I didn't find errors, only things that didn't say ObjectError. But I remember finding that kind of stuff in my downloads folder.

This sort of thing is not random. Life isn't doing things to you - you bought a computer before researching the requirements of the things you wanted to run on it, and now you can't run stuff on it. That's a natural consequence.

A little research ahead of time saves all kinds of hassle and heartache later. Take advantage of the time now, and the resources of the forum, to thoroughly look into what you want from a computer, what is necessary to get it, and what the best way to swing it will be for you. It's cheaper to spend a little more time and money upfront to get exactly what you want than to buy something that'll almost do at a bargain rate right away.

Actually, I didn't think I mentioned it before but I didn't buy the computer myself, a family member was kind enough to do it and she said it was a refurbished one, so I was like.. a computers a computer! Now I know I was wrong in a way. And I know, to bad she wasn't able to get a totally new one even though they say they clean refurbished ones out. Thanks for telling me.
