So, I do not know why I got this random idea in my head. But I did. So, I decided to make some old fashion news paper wall paper. And this is how it came out. Tell me what can be changed, or added, or is it enough?

And this next shot, is a very very close up shot of the wallpaper [almost wrote house, lol.]

I know the pictures are freaking huge, but I wanted to make sure you could see ALL of the detail. But yeah, there it is :)
Now lets Take 2. I think this one might be a little better, due to the fact, its not so harsh on your eyes
TWO http://i47.tinypic.com/29fbfyf.jpg

I like take 2 better, myself

Its more detailed, and you can actually see it better. And number 1 is too bright, and may blind the Sims. Lol

Take 2 looks much better. Take one also to my eye repeats itself too much.

I agree. After I had put the wallpaper on the wall. My eyes started to water. Then I found number 2, and saw how much more...Subtle? Is that word? It was. I really like number 2. I want to upload it, so Sims can something to read around the house, or in the bathroom. Lol.
Then again, I like this sort of stuff.

Makes good toilet paper. I've seen newspaper walls uploaded before, I have one but wouldn't mind a different one. Good for really poor sims.
Also if it's being used as wallpaper in rl it would get yellow and torn.

Welll, do you think it would be good enough to be uploaded? And that was just wrong, lol

 I think they would want some kind of set for uploading here. Maybe a set of ‘poor wallpapers’.
One with some staining or tearing would be great, but I don't know how to do that to an existing pattern.

More Wallpaper. The first set is all "poorish" looking wallpaper, then there is the second set, that has a little more of an urban or abstract look. I may add in the Second Set, just to have a different variety. You know?
First Set:
THREE http://i49.tinypic.com/28iu735.jpg
FOUR http://i48.tinypic.com/v6szkx.jpg
FIVE: http://i50.tinypic.com/73gvau.jpg
SIX http://i46.tinypic.com/2dt27wg.jpg
SEVEN http://i48.tinypic.com/1ouc9l.jpg
EIGHT http://i47.tinypic.com/303ef00.jpg
NINE http://i46.tinypic.com/op4t2t.jpg
Second Set:
TEN http://i46.tinypic.com/242v14x.jpg
ELEVEN http://i48.tinypic.com/1zml3bm.jpg
TWELVE http://i45.tinypic.com/20t2ypt.jpg
And there you have it :)

I like all the newspapers, (except the butterfly's) the rest no. You need to work on the joins, as they won't accept lines showing except I should think on newspaper. If you have a longer pattern like a mural made up of 3 or 4 walls you might get away with the last one, but I really don't think people are after that kind of thing as you have it now.
Hope that doesn't sound harsh, just being honest.

Do not worry, Jo, you weren't. Here are new ones, and I really like these ones. I feel they are meant to be in some sort of haunted house. [Except a couple.]

FOURTEEN http://i45.tinypic.com/331pvk3.jpg

SIXTEEN http://i50.tinypic.com/vxzy1e.jpg
SEVENTEEN http://i48.tinypic.com/2hygl7o.jpg

Those are looking better. Some still show lines but others look good. What I would concentrate on is rather then a whole heap of different ones is make a set of the same paper. So one torn, one pealing, a couple of stained ones and maybe a cleaner one so people can paper a whole room convincingly. I know that's what I have looked for when I've wanted to do a grungy run down place. With just one it looks way to repetitive around a room.

Slurp! Really good looking walls. When can I have them? I have a project of my own in progress and some these would work well.
Just one tiny thing, could you make two more versions of your walls? Because if you make just one version of each, the pattern repeats too much. So mini sets of different wall papers? ;)

Well in your opinions which ones would you keep? I want people to like them :) I will put numbers next to them, so you can tell me which number :)
And Aucaria, I can do that. Make two more sets. :) Or two more wall coverings. I think I just said the same thing over just in two different ways, but yeah.

Thanks for the numbers. :)
Are you ready? Here they come...
walls: 2, 3 and 4
walls: 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23.
I know it will be a lot work to make an extra versions of those. But if you manage to make some, I´m really more than happy! :)

Thank you Spiderman. I will get them uploaded soon once I get more done.

Hi, may I suggest to look at this thread (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=166451) regarding a few very basic considerations about wall texture.
In particular regarding 10, 11, and 13 which are not meeting upload requirements in my opinion (but I'm not a moderator...)
About the newspaper walls, most of them are quite stretched. Try to even their tones so they can match each other in a set.
If your idea is that Sims use them because they're poor, then why not having several different page resized as Sims newspaper size, slapped on a wall.
About the derelict ones, you've got some nice bases but it needs variations; having the same worn wallpaper with the same pattern all around the room kinda defeat the effect.
I don't like the symmetrical ones but that's very personal (it's a too easy trick to get rid of the seam).
Please, understand : this is not criticism, this is actually encouragements.
You have potential. If you'll aim for quality and details instead of quantity you'll definitely improve a lot. What graphic program are you using ?

I forgot twelve. Which is thirteen. Lol. But I wasn't going to upload those anyway, it was just some abstract stuff I wanted to show off. The rest may be uploaded. Plus some of that stuff you would seen an old house. I have been in plenty to know that seeing the early day interior design wasn't as good as it is now. They did overlay a lot of their wallpaper, and you could see a lot of the seams. And that is what I was going for. But I will keep at it, I guess...I am slowly giving up though...
Because its hard to keep trying more and more, and for it to look like its getting worse and worse.
And I am using PAINT.net
I am sorry, I am just a little worried for my mum, and my grandmother.

Aw, don't give up on this! Focus on one set (3 or 4 variations of the same paper) for now- once you get that one right, it'll be easier to do more.
That last paper- the red striped one? That one is looking pretty good. I see that you flipped the grunge which is a good idea.To do another one (or two) try erasing some of the grunge spots so there is more variety in how those parts look. I don't know if you can do this in Paint- but what could help you: Tile a few papers side by side so you can see how the seams/grunge spots match up from paper to paper.
Are you using an overlay of some sort for the grunge? If not and you can, you should. It'd be a lot easier to edit, while not changing the actual wallpaper at all.

Akos, hope the pm cleared things up. I was saying exactly what mustluvcatz is saying about using the same wallpaper while varying the grunge/rips.

Ah, I got it now. Well, then I'll get on it. I think I will do all of that, then add in a bonus. Possibly. Thank you for getting me to understand :)
And I forgot to say, yes, I am overlaying them.
