I only have the base game installed. I tried to make my sim go outside and water the pickled pears, but it just froze. I had to open the task manager to get rid of it.. I know I post a lot, but something bad always happens.

Pickled pears?

If something bad is always happening in your game, you probably need to read through and do the Game Problem FAQ.

She means prickly pears, the cactus with the flat lobes that grow in bunches.

Make sure you've patched the game, and anything the Game Help FAQ tells you to do, even if you think it's silly and can't possibly be the problem, do what it says as best you can. If you don't know how to do something, like read your system specs, come back here and ask after you make a good-faith effort to figure it out for yourself.

The troubleshooting procedure is a matter of change/load game/test/close game in an endless loop till you isolate the problem, so get a drink and something to read that doesn't require a lot of attention and settle in for the long haul. Once you figure it out, you'll realize it wasn't as hard as you thought.

You guys are a lot nicer than the people on the Swedish awesome site. :O I think I'd just get yelled at if I forgot to read that.. I just backed up my game recently. Then I went to play Pleasantview. Is it okay if I just copy and paste Pleasantview in the EA folder and replace the old neighborhood?

I have a another question. Why do I have two EA folders? One is empty.

Edit: Okay.. This is really odd, but all I did was move the downloads, neighborhoods, and saved sims folder to my desk top.. Then I put them back in the folder and it seems to have fixed it. Maybe it's only a certain one that is messed up, one I need to delete and replace.. or maybe it doesn't freeze until after a while.
