I have read tons of forums and threads about custom things not showing up, but no-one has the same problem as I. So, I have downloaded hair and makeup and so on.. Everything is in the Downloads-file and zip files has been unpacked..
Then when they did not show up, I tried to everything with many directions, but it still didn't work. Then I realized that always there was a step to enable custom content in the gear looking thing(the game options) But the problem is that I don't have that kind of button. I have the same blue and just the the same looking box, but it has only few options. There was one that said something like "show your own objects" and it was on. But even then I did not have the new downloaded makeup or clothes in the making of new family.
Would the reason for this be because of I have only have the Sims 2, no expansion packs or anything. Or maybe I am just stupid?
I have already tried to deleting all and then reinstalling, but that didn't work.

Help please? ;<

If you have no expansions, you might want to check that your downloads aren't in subfolders. Also a screencap of your game options might be handy.

After moving the custom stuff out of subfolders, only few started working, but I think that is because all the ones that didn't work, they didn't have Mesh-files. And Sims2Pack file that did not work before, started working. So thank you so much (:

Are ALL of your downloads (make sure that they are compatible with base game only and do not require any expansions) showing up in your game now?
