HELP! Unable to Start Game. Service initialization failed (0x039e8474)." error.

I cleared all the cache in my folders, I deleted all my mods in case that was preventing my game from starting...... The problem actually occurred when I was told to delete "Shaders_Win32.precomp" to remove the mosaic from my sims. So then I redownloaded Shaders_Win32.precomp and my game still isn't loading and the same "Unable to Start Game. Service initialization failed (0x039e8474)." error occurs.

I'm afraid you've messed up the registry and need to uninstall and reinstall and repatch. Why download the file off the web, when you can simply copy it off the DVD?

There's a "no mosaic" mod in Downloads that won't require you to mess with files in the Program Files path, if you're interested.
