So last night I got the message that Darren Dreamer (at the elder stage but far from death) caught a cold. I was in the living room (the Sims not my own) with Allyn (his wife) and their kids and all of a sudden Allyn goes running into the bedroom and I see *cry softly* in her queue (sp? ) and the kids are surrounding the bed. Darren had collapsed and was in a ball on the floor. I was shocked ... I have never lost a Sim other than old age!

So anyhoo ... he's back as a ghost for the first night and he's in the living room reenacting his death. I have never seen that before. I have Darleen Dreamer roaming around still and I havent seen her do anything regarding her death that I know of.

I don't keep graves on lots often (I send them to graveyards), as ghosts annoy me, but I believe sims that were drowned leave pools of water everywhere and sims who died of starvation raid the fridge.

It is rather annoying when my Sims do that. At first I was stunned to watch and a little saddened but after awhile I get annoyed. Sadly I have killed a lot of my Sims off.. unconsciously of course! And nearly all have reenacted their deaths whether it was from disease, starvation or drowning (etc.) though I haven't seen any reenact their death if it was from being crushed by a sattilelight or flies..( and for the second, frankly I don't wanna~) But I recently found that if one of your Sims die from drowning that unfortunately when they "reenact" their death.. they'll leave puddles of water all over the place -_- (At least I assume where the random puddles are from.)

However I am surprised that your Sim died just like that without warning. :( I mean, for me at least I get issued the message that my Sim's cold has gotten worse to Phenonia (sp?) and then well.. if it's not taken care of, you can only imagine.

That is...creepy.

Darleen died in a fire, and they really don't have a way to re-enact their death. Sims that drowned leave puddles of water everywhere, Sims that starved to death will raid the fridge, Sims that were electrocuted will re-enact that, Sims that died of disease will grab their throat. Cow Plant victims will taunt the Cow Plant.

Yep thats what he did ... grabbed his throat. Oh well first time for everything. Their graves are now being shipped off to the neighborhood eternal resting place LOL ... I dont want to see that again.

When a ghost scares a Sim, s/he smiles very strangely. Seeing that creepy smile with that haunted music makes me to throw my laptop outta my window, lay on the floor and whisper... "It's okay, it's okay..."

Anyway, here's something you might find interesting.

A Sims Wiki article about ghosts (http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Ghost), How to recognize a ghost (?) - Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-kaH2ek1dQ)

I got really scared when I was reading the trivia (first link). Then all of a sudden, a wind blowed up and banged my door. Oh. My. God.

I think the electrocution ghosts are the creepiest with how they fall and convulse. I always hated it whenever Lyla, Earl E., or (I think) Tim Lee would haunt Olive's house. Lyla especially; she had that creepy ghost smile all the time.

Fire (and satellite) ghosts seem to be the overall angriest, though. Satellite ghost Matthew Hart is a scourge on the frat; his hauntings are relentless if the current fratties don't mourn his grave enough. The fire ghosts at Olive's house were bad, too, and Elwood Valley -- who "spontaneously combusted" -- was a massive pain in the butt to Chloe while she was still fostering his daughter Uncanny.

I notice that wiki article says ghosts can be prevented by selling the tombstone, which is the same as deleting, which somebody ought to go edit real fast.

Of course it's creepy, Ms. Vienna - it's a ghost!

I was wondering if that was why Cordelia Capp is such a major pain in the butt when she haunts. In one night she scared Tybalt twice, Hermia twice, broke a phone and a lamp and scared Consort 5 times. She died in a fire and seems majorly pissed about the fact. Her husband Caliban also died in the fire, but he isn't such a terror. He scares, but not nearly as much as his wife.

Cordlia's antics are why I first learned that deleting urns is a bad thing (I deleted her urn and she disappeared from the family tree and her kid's memories). I started over with a new game and learned how to move graves, and that is the major reason why the Veronaville community lot cemetery is built.

I have never seen any of the ghosts in my game reenact their deaths. I'll have to pay closer attention the next time I see a ghost. I usually move ghosts to a cemetery. I made an exception for Mortimer Goth though. He was buried in his backyard with his relatives. He's the only ghost on that lot who comes inside the house and I have only seen him appear once so far. The only thing I have seen Mortimer do is fill up the bathtub a few times. I have no idea why he did that. Mortimer isn't really scary to me, but maybe that's because he died of old age in my game and he was also permanent platinum. I kind of wish they would have made some of the ghosts in the game act friendly toward their loved ones, especially if they died happy. It would be nice to see Mortimer's youngest daughter talking to him. She's a teenager now. Although he didn't scare Lydia, I know she noticed him, because his face appeared in her thought bubble when he first entered the house. She was reading a book at the time.

This is why all my deceased ones head for the graveyard :)

My first Sims game was Life Stories. In one household I had a family of mom, dad, teen girl, and male child. The mom and son died in a fire (because I didn't realize that the smoke detector actually DID something). And believe you me it was freaky seeing a red child ghost. Even worse he kept scaring his older sister!

In that game all you can do is delete them (unless someone has a hack for Life Stories for no unlink on delete).

Needless to say, I'm happy to have the option of sending the graves downtown.

You want to see ghosts in action reenacting their deaths, Olive Specter's is the place to be!

I dont particularly like ghosts in my game but it was neat to see him reenacting his death but thats it, I only needed to see it once. I felt soo guilty letting him die, yes I know I could have not saved but I did and its done. Though oddly he left nothing in his will to anyone. Do they only get something if they die from old age I wonder?

And from now on ... all graves go to Eternal Gardens "THE place to rest for eternity"

Yeah, only if old age. If they die of something else while still an elder (like a satellite) their relatives get nothing. I know from experience.

I edited the Sims Wiki yesterday, so people that are new to the game don't make that mistake.

But yeah, I always build "Ghost Dumping Lots"...I mean....graveyards <.<
In my Megahoods they get filled almost immediately by the relatives of the Goths, Capps and Olive's victims.
