What are some aspects of sims 3 that you initially didn't like, but grew to like the more you played?

When I first started playing, I thought there was too much free time (now I don't actually know why I thought that, but I definitely did) and I was always having a hard time thinking of things for my sims to do. The more I played, though, the more I appreciated I could have my sims hang out with friends or family and send them off to places in town, meeting people.

Initially, I hated that I could get them to the top of their career before they were out of young adulthood. Then I realized that's all I was doing with my sims; work, skilling, and some hangout time. I definitely like that I don't have to rush them in their careers as much.

What about you? Did certain gameplay aspects become better the more you played?

Nope. That would violate the laws of thermodynamics. The entropy of a closed system always increases. Therefore, my opinion of something only gets worse. You have to add or create new content to improve my opinion. I see something, I assign an opinion, and that's as good as my opinion will ever get unless something is added. The laws of physics require it to be so.

I am not sure that my gameplay is a closed system. I add energy to it, which I suck out of other things as necessary, so the law is still satisfied.

^^ Yeah - what she said, lol.

So you never ever change your opinion about something?

I am not sure that my gameplay is a closed system. I add energy to it, which I suck out of other things as necessary, so the law is still satisfied. That works if you're a modder, but otherwise you can't actually add anything to the game. The game remains closed and unchanged, and therefore, entropy increases.

So you never ever change your opinion about something?Sure, I do. But like I said, entropy always increases, so my opinion goes from bad to worse. My initial opinion might be that something is really annoying, and it goes from being merely annoying to being flat out intolerable. This persists unless I can open that sucker up and do the "There, I fixed it". Otherwise, it's a closed system, and in a closed system, entropy always increases.

hm, I guess I'm the opposite. I went from thinking the game was slightly annoying to loving it, lol.

I only started playing TS3 because my desktop vid card went kablooey.....and because my new laptop wouldn't accept TS2 base game *Windows 7*. I....deeply DISLIKED....various aspects of the game. However, after almost a year of playing a vanilla game, I have now added mods to make the game more...palatable?? to me. I have to confess...I am thoroughly addicted again.

Granted...it is NOT the same game as TS2. Once I got over that, I was able to appreciate the game a lot more.

Just my opinion....doesn't have to be right.

I have to agree. When I first played TS3 it was horrible, but with some time I came to like it more and more. Now I prefer to play this than my Sims 2 XD

The way the sims looked. I thought they were so damn creepy and ugly and weird-looking. Now, sims in the sims 3 still aren't as good-looking as they are in the sims 2, but I'm used to it now and it looks right to me.

Still don't see why EA goes out of their way to make the townies look like monstrosities though.

See, I'm not sure why everyone thinks this. To me, I much prefer the look of the Sims in TS3.

I still gave them makeovers, but for many of them I didn't have to do much. Now Starlight Shores, on the other hand....

I definitely prefer the perimeters to which you can make sims in TS3, but most EA sims aren't good looking, Lucky Palms being a pleasant exception. I prefer the TS3 facial features and body style. People are fleshy IRL and TS3 sims are pudding, so you have to know how to whip them up. Maybe some people, even EA staff, have a hard time working with pudding?

So, I guess I liked TS3 from the start and of course I have a lot of issues with the game. In some ways I grow to like it more but in other ways I want to yell at EA.

Still don't see why EA goes out of their way to make the townies look like monstrosities though.Because they didn't, Stylist sims wouldn't have anything to actually DO.

Otherwise there was no work for cc creators, like some folks over here (jonha, delphy, bella3lek4) , buffy, s-club and the likes.
By the way, the sims in TS2 also weren't looking that good. While in TS3 you have the pudding flavour, in TS2 you have the hollow man look.
