So I've been downloading sims custom content from Sims2.com and I recently started downloading from ModtheSims. The sims I download show up in the game but missing some parts that I needed meshes for. I installed the meshes for them, but the icon for them would be a blank piece of paper with the top right corner folded in. I'd click on the file and this message would pop up: http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&rlz=1T4GGHP_enUS463US464&biw=1366&bih=563&tbm=isch&tbnid=EHPLi0sqtfskKM:&imgrefurl=http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/pages/viewpage.action%3FpageId%3D9535978&docid=ppSaAOXrAVvZJM&imgurl=http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/download/attachments/9535978/VMware%252520windows%252520can%2527t%252520open%252520this%252520file.jpg&w=439&h=278&ei=0LMYUKG6E-qKiAKfvYCQBA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=156&vpy=144&dur=140&hovh=179&hovw=282&tx=177&ty=102&sig=111407567807840953954&page=1&tbnh=99&tbnw=157&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0,i:73
(Sorry for the long link)
I finally just chose to "select a program from a list of installed programs) but I couldn't find the little SimsPak icon so I chose WinRar (what I use to extract custom content). Now on all the meshes, there is the same piece of paper with the top right corner folded in, but with the winrar icon inside of it and when ever I try to click on it a window pops up saying. "The archive is either unkown format or damaged." I've tried deleting the content and reuploading it, looking for the correct program to switch the mesh files to, ect. but I just dont know what to do. Please help! How do I fix the mesh files and get my full custom content? Please explain as simply as you can, as you can tell I'm not computer savy, Thank You!
(By the way, I have an HP laptop with windows 7 if that helps at all. Its pretty new, I got it for Christmas.)

What's the extension for the files? If it's .sim2pack, install Clean Installer (which you should do anyway.) If it's .rar or .zip, you should be able to open them with WinRAR. But I get the feeling it's .package. In which case, they are your unpacked, ready-to-go sims files and they don't NEED opening, they need to be plopped down in your Downloads folder.
