First of all, I think you need to get it straight that evolution has no goal, and it is mindless. It is a mindless non-random process that selects organisms best fit in their environment at a certain time. If all conditions remain equal (that is, if there is no change whatsoever), then there is no evolution.

i must point out that simply wanting to and actually being capable of it are completely different things. if you have no opportunity to do so, theres no amount of wanting to support your children that will make it come true. and you cant possibly think that theres opportunity enough to go around for everybody and that the impoverished simply want to sit around and do nothing, or cant do simple food/mouths math.
heres a thought: the poor typically have little/no health care. this leads to unattended injuries and much sickness allowed to run its course. without the advantage of a doctor at their disposal, they are forced to take more time off from work to get better. less work time, less pay time, less financial security.
this is also ignoring (entirely) the influence of privilege.
on the same token, porn stars make a larger salary than most scientists. indication of superior intelligence?

by the way, id LOVE to hear about what exactly the kardashians have put forth into the world that is worth as much money as their worth adds up to, currently? what huge social/economical advance have they invented, what have they revolutionized, lately?
rich = smart, poor = dumb is an old-school and downright inaccurate way of thinking. there are idiots and hard workers in both groups. monetary accumulation is in no way any sort of measurement of who is or isnt "intelligent".

Lynn Margulis proposed a biosymbiogenesis theory that organelles and bacteria combined to form more complex life forms. If so, then evolution actually occurs in leaps rather than through the slower process of natural selection. It has been said that it would require the lifetime of 10 suns for natural selection to cause lifeforms as complex as we see today.
It has been suggested that bacteria may be sentient so I think that evolution may actually have a goal.
I have Autism and I believe that it is genetic in origin. There isn't much, if any evidence to support theories other than genetics as the cause of autism. There is a dramatic increase in the incidence of autism and I don't think that it is because of better diagnosis or vaccines. I think that something has happened to cause an increasing number of people to develop the autistic brain which has some distinct differences from the neurotypical or NT brain. So, could sentient bacterium have the goal of creating another type of human?

I am, quite obviously, the Ultimate Achievement in evolution. The rest of you are just also-rans.
