Default Survey Says!
So as I was logging in to play last night I got a short survey from EA asking me to rate Sims 4 and if I would recommend it to others. On a scale of 1 to 10 I rated my feelings about Sims 4 as neutral and I told them I would not recommend sims 4 to a friend because of the lack of toddlers, teens that look like adults and tiny neighborhoods with only four lots.

I didn't see a thread about it and I was wondering if anyone else got this brief survey. Especially after pursuing the thread on Rachel's 09/15 interview in which she dismissed what fans asked for in favor of telemetry statistics.

I got no such survey. Telemetry not working out for them?

Oh, I've got this survey like 3 or 4 times for TS4. But all games get those, 'cause I got one for old game Dragon Age Origins and this game needs no surveys, nothing will be improved at this time obviously. I think it usually appear after patches, long periods not opening Origin and when you play a game for 5 min or less and quit.

Let's just agree to disagree.

I've had it once and fair and square told them in summary what was wrong with the game.

Oh I got this today too. Here's my response.

I somehow lost the screenshots for the rest of my response, but I basically told them that they did the right thing by focusing on things that matter the most, and the missing features like toddlers, terrain tools, create-a-style, customizable worlds, teens of a different height, etc. wouldn't even make the top 100 reasons why I'm playing a life simulation game.

Given the insane number of hours I've played TS4, the probably don't even need my response to know how much Iike TS4

But yeah, I've been playing The Sims since TS1 base game (I actually played TS2, TS3 and TS4 all on their launch day), my ranking of Sims games (based off how much I actually enjoy them) goes like TS4 > TS1 > TS2 > TS3.

Survey Says!

"If you wanna talk to them, use the telemetry thingy!"

That's a reference to a line of dialogue from a Malcolm in the Middle episode, for those that don't get it.

Why don't they send me those. All I ever get is "Would I recommend Origin to a friend?"

Christmas fear and joeandsarah77, ... In any of the other Sims sections of MTS, members express their excitement and interest in the games and are met by a friendly, supportive community. Here, the are suspected of being trolls or blamed for a game others hate. That's not respect.

And people disagreeing with someone saying they like something? Ridiculous.

I simply stepped back from the game for several months and came back to it with a different playing approach. It's quite enjoyable now, played differently.

Okay so dead serious. I don't understand how that small world or game is better; I think it's the worst Sims game they have ever made, but an opinion is an opinion and everyone is entitled to hold one. At last some long term fans are happy.

Edit for posts popping up on Bootstrap that were not there when I posted on Classic.

VerDeTerre, I am a big believer in everyone holding their own opinions and if you want to check out my posts you will see I do not go around making posts bashing what others like. I don't frequent this area very often and assumed their post was sarcasm. I like to pop my head in enough to know what is happening in Sims 4 land and that is all. Long term fan but a Sims 2 player. Also I did not click disagree on their post, that is something I leave to others.

If that reply was true, I can understand where you're coming from in terms of focusing on the core base game, but the core is so underwhelming and fruitless.

Expectation vs. Reality.

You are more flexible, and/or creative than I am. I was unable to do that for 3. I am enjoying this iteration of the game, but only by using mods to force it to play my way.

This is a typical Origin regurgitation. Not only did I get the same thing for TS4, but I also got it for Dragon Age Inquisition, (Which, coincidently, I've been playing of late.) It tracks the games you play, then asks you to partake in a bullshit questionnaire that leads to nowhere, but makes you feel part of a greater whole.
Don't tell an artist how to paint a picture after they have already filled the canvas. They'll only tell you to fuck off, if they bother to acknowledge you at all.

Yeah they do this for all their games. I remember filling that out. I doubt they read them though.

Sorry joeandsarah77, this has been the atmosphere around here, so I'm bit sensitive to it. I think a lot of people would have assumed the post was sarcasm because there's a lack of acceptance when it comes to others opinions, so for many, it stretches the imagination that anyone would be happy with something they aren't happy with. Thanks for clarifying your position. I remember you from the Sims 2 section as being reasonable, polite, and accepting.

As joandsarah77 said everyone has an opinion and I respect that but I can't accept this sentence. Seriously? That's what a life sumulator HAS to have.

There are still people that don't like ts4 in these forums. But VerDeTerre, I apologize if you felt like I was bashing your opinion. I thought ts4 was okay when I played it the first number of times, but I like ts3 better. At least for now

How do you play it now?

No, I am focussing on having my sims socialise. Have plenty of parties and outings. That's something they do particularly well now that was extremely disappointing in TS3.
