Never made any custom content before? Start with the easiest, most basic stuff (which you can make with all free programs) - Sims 2: Walls, Floors, and Ground Cover, Sims 3: Custom Patterns
Just installed the Sims 3 patch or about to? Read this article for helpful advice about patching and keeping your custom content working!
I'm a big fan of custom content, and often find things I really really love, but would like to use in a different manner. I mostly edit clothing and hairs for my own personal use, but whenever I make something I think more people would enjoy I'll share it. It's nice to know that someone else was able to enjoy something you spent time on. Hopefully I'll continue making little things to improve my game play and learning more as I go.
Because I suck at making textures or code, I edit things that already exist. Thank you to all you creators out there with open policies that allow me to do so. Therefore, if you want to use something of mine for an unrelated project you need to check the policy of the original creator. Check links in the particular download to see what they state.
A shoutout to VioletPadfoot for inspiring me to actually try these things, and for all her help =)
