Ya know, it's not like I was going to make any changes to this house based on what the scores said about that house anyways...
Since I'm darn sure that the other two houses are going to have to be bigger (I haven't peeked at whatever 225 Main Street is yet for the sake of not cheating.) I decided to do Rose Gardner for this house. Now, I ran into a bit of census drama with this character even before I moved her in. I'm not doing these houses in Pleasantview, they are in my Bluewater downtown of my Desdirata + West Weasels hood. What this means is I already have a Rose Greenman, so this new girl's name is getting changed to Rosemary. I also already have a Gardner family in this hood too, Marigold Stargazernée Gardner, so our little Miss Rosemary will just have to be Marigold's sister and Aunt to her four kids! That also means she is *gasp* a plantsim! Read the rest behind the tag.
Decorating the house to be a happy home for a plantsim while still pleasing the judges was a difficult balancing act. Plantsims don't eat, they don't sleep, they don't even pee, but I knew if I didn't include a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, I'd somehow manage a negative score for sure. I tried to figure out how she would still use each room while also making it comfortable for any guests that come to visit, so that's why I have things like a fridge and a toilet.
Rosemary knew that living in out in the fields and forests just wasn't quite what she wanted, but she didn't like the feel of plastic or the cool hate of metal, so everything in her house is made of natural materials. The single exception are the sunlamps. Regular lighting just doesn't do anything for her, so she had to spurge on four $2k lamps. She also had to come to terms with killing trees to make her house, but she kept them as natural as she could for the floors and used already dead and dried out grasses for the thatch roof. She is especially fond of both the forest floor carpet and the 'forest through the trees' wallpaper. It gives her house that shady glen feeling she loved in the woods.
The outside of her house has four distinct and still very 'wild' areas. In the front she has a flower and vegetable garden, everything is of course, thriving. Nearest that is a small thicket of flower and fruit trees, who love it when Rosemary stops by for a chat. Beyond that on the other side of the yard is a small waterfall and pond with evergreen trees, and back around the front again is a small shade tree and her tent. Upon moving in, she did actually want a tent and that exact tree. I've complimented it with a butterfly house. (see front pic) Similarly, there is also a small beehive near the front flowers. (Unreleased WIP project)
Rosemary uses her kitchen for her flower arranging. Having the cooling unit near the fridge saved on electrical hookups and such. She has a juicer in the corner and the table and small prep area is just large enough to have (half of) her sister's family over.
Her bedroom is a quiet relaxing space for her. She doesn't sleep, but it's nice to stretch out once in a while. Because she lives indoors she finds it very important to have as many flowers friends inside as possible. The plants don't mind; in fact, they feel privileged to be chosen as her companions and they live a little longer than they normally would inside because they are happy and she has plantsim magic.
The last room in her house is, of course, the bathroom. To her it truly is a bath room because she only uses it for bathing. After all, a plantsim's gotta get watered somehow! She enjoys the cool blue and the stones on the floor; it reminds her of a delicious hidden pool she played in as a sprout.
And the top down view, to round it all out. Rosemary has been living in her new house for almost a week now and she loves it. Marigold is very happy to have a sister, and the kids are thrilled to have an Aunt. They took to each other like bees to a flower. Thank you jones!
