I made it! Third time's the charm, I guess ;D
(and yes, I did move the trash can/mailbox, but it was quite by accident and then I couldn't figure out the original placement. )
Tom and Sarah were (and still are!) one of those couples that climbed Mt. Overfrost instead of visiting Lora Lora for their honeymoon. They actually met while hunting deer with their (separate) families, and fell in love. The pair of antlers on their living room wall is from that deer hunt, and Sarah insists on keeping them even though Tom has long since given up hunting and enjoys a vegetarian diet.
Immediately following their honeymoon (during which Tom lost a toe, and Sarah swears her sense of smell has never returned!) Tom returned to school and became a teacher, while Sarah pursued her dream of becoming a CEO.
A year or so into their marriage, Tom and Sarah decided it was time for something more in their family, but Sarah wasn't quite ready to take time off of work (only three promotions away from two promotions and a board member vote away from CEO!) so one day when Sarah returned from work, she found a scampering pup running around the apartment!
Three years later (and only one promotion and a board member vote from CEO for Sarah!) Sarah decided it was time to take a little time off of work, and, after two more years of trying, they finally conceived a baby! Plenty of nausea, exhaustion and trips to the toilet later, sweet little baby Daniel was born. Shortly after the bub's birth, Tom quit his job, and with his last paycheck and their nest egg, Tom and Sarah purchased a house.
Sarah picked out the farmhouse inspired outdoor siding, and Tom fought hard for ever single plant planted on the lot. Sarah's not against vegetation by any means, but the idea of decorating their new home with bushes, trees and flowers just never occurred to her.
Tom built Daniel's sandbox out of some old railroad ties; he's most definitely a DIY type. Constant projects, according to Sarah.
Since Tom has three sisters, all with children, and Sarah is the youngest of seven, they both have plenty of nieces and nephews, so the playground equipment is already getting quite a workout. Tom frequently goes over it with a jar of Uber Glue, hoping the equipment will survive long enough for Daniel to enjoy it.
[i](The empty planters are plantable planters. That's why they're empty.)
The kitchen is actually completely Sarah's domain - when she has time off of work, she will spend all day there, cooking and baking and making a right mess. Of course, Tom exchanges dish duty for the privilege to lick all the spoons.
The living room is a combination of both Sarah's favorite things - plush purple seating, extra counter space and plenty of wine juice racks, and Tom's favorite things - his beloved fish, desk for DIY projects, and a bouncy that Daniel absolutely adores. And, of course, the antlers.
The plates featured in the dining area have been passed down in Sarah's family for seven generations. Being the youngest girl in her family, she received them following her mother's passing a few weeks after Daniel's birth.
Sarah frequently nods off in the evening when rocking Daniel to sleep, but refuses to allow Tom to place a lounger or small bed in the nursery.
Sarah and Tom's quilt was pieced together by Tom, using a ready kit. It's not particularly warm, so sometimes Sarah blames that on why she sleeps in the rocker in the nursery.
As for the bathroom, both Sarah and Tom agreed that after the teeny shower and cracked mirror in their apartment bathroom, they really wanted a nice bathtub and a full stand mirror. Sarah also began some sort of explanation that a place to go is nothing special after a long climb on Mt. Overfrost ... but I sort of tuned that out ;D
