The house has a country feel, with comfortable furniture throughout. They have more time for their hobbies since their youngest moved out so their chess set has taken centre stage downstairs.

The small entry way is fully functional, with a small sideboard for keeping gloves and scarves for cold winter days. The bowl on top is for keys - Joe's never been good at keeping track of where he leaves them so Linda decided they needed a home.

The downstairs took on the earthy, garden tones that Joe loves. Even though it's just the two of them, they wanted a big kitchen table so that the kids can come over for dinner. Their old stereo lives in the kitchen along with some shelving for various trinkets and books they've collected on their travels.

The living room is home to even more books, along with some pictures on the wall of places they've travelled. The table behind the couch holds one of Linda's paintings - she's always loved art and is glad to have a place to display her favourite piece.

Linda chose a floral pattern in her favourite colour for their master suite. The sideboard by the bed lived in their old kitchen but was moved upstairs as extra storage for knick knacks.

For the guest room they stuck with colours that any of their kids would be happy to stay in. More photos of their travels adorn the walls.

Their old crib was moved into the guest room for any of their grandchildren coming to stay. Some of the kids old toys were kept too so they're not too bored when they come to visit for the day.
The guest room also doubles as a small office area. The computer is older but well loved and they can't bear to replace it - it still works, after all.

The back patio became home to Linda's easel for the summer months. They also have a small table so that they can eat dinner outside on warm summer nights. They like to leave the back door open to let the fresh air in to the house. The old swingset was brought to the new house for the grandkids to play on. Joe has a small vegetable patch beside the patio along with lots of pot plants that are easy to maintain when they go on trips.
