A few months ago Kate and Will moved to Appaloosa Plains to live in the house that had passed on to Will after his grandmother had died at old age. The house was a bit shabby and furnished rather old-fashioned. Kate and Will have worked hard to give the house a more modern look. They kept some of grandma's old stuff because they ran out of money and could no longer afford to buy everything new.
Will's grandmother loved lantanas and so this flowering plant could be found all over in the garden. The couple decided to share all the work and so Will worked in the garden while Kate tried to make the house look nicer.
Much to Will's horror Kate had chosen an "eye-blinding" colour for the house's wall covering. He thought it looked as yellow as a canary bird. Kate, however, explained to him that this IKEA color was the only color that had a reduced price and an additional discount when bought in large quantity. Unfortunately the paint buckets were nonreturnable and so they had to keep it, due to their low budget.
I wanted to change as little from the original Round 1 lot as possible. I kept all the plants (at their original location) and just added a few more. I did not remove any of the terrain paint, I just added the pathway and a little dirt under the chairs, the grill and the fireplace and the clothesline. I also kept the flooring on the foundation and just changed the color to make it fit to each room.
Since this is a challenge I didn't use a regular staircase and build it in two parts (don't remember how this is called in English). Even though I have done so in the past I still feel I'm not good at it so I welcome this foundation challenge to improve my skills.
