Hello, here is my entry for the challenge. I hope you all enjoy looking at 'Reflection Pond'.
Maura Carver and Marina Machado have been BFFs since Marina accidentally rode her bike into Maura when they were 8 years old. Since then the two girls have been inseparable and as close as sisters. For college, they both attended the same school and lived in the dorms together. This situation led them to an important discovery. While they loved each other and enjoyed the companionship of their friend, they were not compatible roommates!
Upon graduating, Marina and Maura decided that, while they weren't meant to share the same house, they didn't want to live to far away from each other. The perfect solution? A rundown duplex! The girls were able to pull together their meager savings and buy the duplex. Living in the duplex, Marina was able to decorate her living quarters in the modern style that she loves while Maura kept to a more traditional, cozy style.
It's been a year since they moved in and all the renovations are finally done. Now Maura is focusing on her career as an aspiring artist and Marina is making progress in the local music scene.
About Maura:
Maura grew up in a quaint country house on a horse farm with 7 siblings. Now that she finally has a place of her own she has stuck with a style that is reminiscent of her childhood home. Thankfully though, with such a small apartment, there is no room for her annoying siblings to come and visit!
About Marina: Marina grew up as the only child of a struggling single mother. While Marina never lacked for love, sometimes she wished she was able to have more material possessions. Marina took the opportunity of having her own place to decorate it with all the modern furniture and accessories she could find (and afford). Marina cannot wait until her mother is able to come and visit her to see how well she is doing for herself.
