Unfortunately, due to real-life issues, I didn't have enough time to write a full 750-word story, nor did I have enough time for the bonus. Go ahead and dock me points for that; I deserve it. Still, I am going to post what I have been able to do:
Prompt 1: New museum exhibit
Prompt 2: Any Mario character(s)

Games used: TS2, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
SUNNYVIEW. A new exhibit has opened in the Sunnyview Art Gallery. The exhibit, known as “The Companions of the Thousand Year Door,” features paintings of seven of the characters from the hit Nintendo GameCube game Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, alongside a Nintendo GameCube with the game running. The characters featured are all possible party members in the game. This exhibit celebrates the eleventh anniversary of the game's release, and will be in the Gallery for the rest of 2015, after which it will be replaced by a similar exhibit based on the original Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64.
The characters featured in the exhibit are: Goombella, a Goomba; Koops, a Koopa Troopa; Madame Flurrie, a wind spirit; a baby Yoshi; Vivian, an antagonist that saw the light; Ms. Mowz, a Mouser; and Admiral Bobbery, a Bob-omb. The exhibit has already attracted over 12,800 visitors in its first three months on display, and it is expected to attract many times that before the end of the year.
The Sunnyview Times asked famed video game journalist Aserio Monty of Veronaville what his thoughts about the exhibit were. He responded, “This has never happened before, but I think it is an excellent idea and a great way to expose more people to the excellent game that is Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. I am hoping that the game gets released on the Virtual Console, and this exhibit will only help that. Seeing this exhibit is definitely worth the two hour drive from Veronaville to Sunnyview. I am also looking forward to seeing the exhibit based on the original Paper Mario in 2016.”
