Because like Ghanima said, we can easily download pianos that look like them. Imagine that the synthesizer could make good practice for being a DJ.

With Uni/NL you can Freestyle (except I think Freestyle came with Uni, ultimately.
In NL you can sing karaoke.

But the Freestyle and karaoke options are kind of different from, say, singing solo or singing to a band. It'd be nice if they'd give that option, making it something like the Natasha Bedingfield that they made, with her singing into a mic along to the band.

And be able to sing for different styles of music, not just freestyling hip hop, (and I second that the band needs to be able to play different songs....) I dunno.. trying to create a metal band for sims probably won't happen but it would be cool..

But wow, that is great! Perfect for DJs, too!

Don't forget that there is a harp and a "giant drum" (OMFG, I'm terrible with terminology...) also piano playing, but hey don't we have that?, well I suppose they added more styles if you asked me.

This is friggin' cool as hell! We get to finally be composers! I sooo can't wait for this EP now!

D: I dunno about modding the violin...It's a pretty specific instrument, so you'd have to create a whole new set of animations to make another kind of instrument, which is pretty demanding. .___.;
