Hello all I hope this is in the right place, anyway: Easy question. I have just started modding The Sims 3, and I am using S3PE to make changes to the XML files in GameplayData.package. I have installed The Sims 3, and the World Adventures and Ambitions Expansion packs, each with its own GameplayData.package file. Do I need to make my changes in all three files, or will just making the changes in the latest file (Ambitions EP GameplayData.package) have the required effect? Thanks very much to all in advanced! Do not make changes *in* any files. You will destroy your game and be unable to patch if you actually change the contents of a necessary game package. |

Hello again, Thank you very much for your help. I finally understand what I should have been doing. I am not fussed about reinstalling the game when a new patch comes out if necessary, or I will probably just overwrite with the original version. One last question, would I place my new, very small package, in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages or C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 Ambitions\Mods\Packages? Anyway, thanks very much for all of your help, and putting me back on the right track! Richard |

Whichever one your resource.cfg points to. If you have them in multiple places, any in the latest EP's folders will override any of the same IDs in earlier installations. |

simlogical Please do not PM me with questions about modding. Please post in an appropriate forum and send me a link to the thread if you would like me to try and help. |
