If I call or contact via computer my Sim's Real Estate Agent's office, as you all know, it shows different categories, such as Community Buildings or Venues. It also says Cottages (the third category). The problem is, there aren't any buyable houses and I can't seem to find how to make them buyable (if such thing can happen). Has anyone else figured out how to purchase a cottage?

Thanks

Don't quote me on this, as I have never done this before, but from just actually buying houses when starting the game or moving, you have to have the amount of money for the cottage in your household or else it won't have a buy button. Free Real Estate should get er' done if you don't mind cheating.

I'm not sure you have understood what I'm talking about. My Sim has already bought a house. A main house. She lives there now. When she calls the Real Estate Agent's office, there's a category called Cottages, which means that she can buy a cottage in the same or another neighborhood. A secondary house. The problem is, there are no available cottages and I don't know how to turn a house into a cottage so my sim can purchase it.

What language is your game? In my real estate stuff I've got "buildings", "properties", and "vacation homes". The third one I'm assuming is for any homes you buy in France, China, and Egypt as part of World Adventures. You can't get those in your home town, only when you travel. That's probably what "cottages" is in your game.

If it is vacation homes i think you need a high visa level to purchase them.

Correct. By default (if this behavior isn't changed by a mod), a sim must satisfy the following requirements in order to purchase a vacation home in one of the destinations:

1. YA or Older
2. Visa Level 3 for that destination.
3. Enough money in order to purchase the house(s).

Teens with Visa level 3 will not see the option on their mobile phones, but after they age up into YA, you can send them back to the destination and they will be able to purchase houses.

That's weird because I do not own World Adventures. It must be like in Sims 2 when you didn't own an Expansion pack and in the neighborhood above it had a button disabled which said: This activity requires The Sims 2 Nightlife Expansion Pack, for example. It must be something like that.

Thank you everyone for your answers!!
