Hi, I've had an issue with my game as of today and I need some help.
What's happening is that I basically go into CAS when I load the game and start creating a sim and what not-- about 5 or 10 minutes later I get to the clothing and it starts having a weird graphical glitch, such as the whole sim turning black and static-like/several clothing pieces semi-disappearing on the sim. I attempted to quit the game and it froze when the graphics glitch occurred, and I had to force quit.. I unfortunately cannot get screens of the said issue because my computer renders almost immobile when the game freezes, unless I press CTRL+ALT+DEL and exit the game through task manager.

OK, now the long process of trying to FIX the game:

-took out recent custom content which thought to be corrupting game
-took out custom content in general, even though it was fine before
-uninstalled ALL custom content in launcher
-deleted caches
-played without custom content
-FML. reinstalled whole game (only installed base game) after above didn't work..TWICE.
-tested with MINIMAL custom content, error still occurred.

So yeah, I've tried about everything-- searched forums to find related issues (which I didn't find) and I read FAQ's for my related issue (didn't find anything..)

I've yet to test the rest of the general gameplay to see any other issues-- I've been only focusing on the CAS issue..(tbh, i'm scared to know what else might be going wrong.)

Also, I happened to do an Intel HD 3000 Graphics Manager update yesterday, which I think has no related issue to my game or anything-- but I'm just throwing out random might-be-problems.

  • General - Integrated Graphics
The reason for your issue is that your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements to play TS2/TS3.
In particular, you don't actually have a graphics card - you have integrated graphics, which is just a chip on your motherboard. Most laptops come with integrated graphics, as do some desktops; and while salesmen often claim that integrated graphics chips are just as good as real graphics cards, they're not.

Integrated graphics chips are designed for people who just use their computers to read email, type up documents, and play minesweeper - they are not suitable for high stress games like TS2/TS3. At the very least, playing TS2/TS3 with integrated graphics will mean the game looks terrible; at the worst, you could permanently damage your computer.
If you have integrated graphics, the other requirements - particularly minimum processor speed - go up to compensate. You can see the increases here, under "If you have a non-T&L capable video card...".

This FAQ contains tips on things you can do to improve your gameplay, and prolong the life of the integrated chip: Game Help:Onboard Graphicswiki
This is MTS's recommended minimum system specs Be aware that, even if you follow all the tips in the above article, you will probably have to upgrade or replace your computer to alleviate all problems.

You didn't state what game version the base game is on and what packs you have. But, in any case, it's the unsupported Intel graphics chip.
