I think I would! Though it may be a slight hassle to run it properly on my computer, that tends to happen with those older games, my old laptop would probably play it, but that thing is beyond most use now lol. I must say though in comparison I did like the style of Makin Magic a bit more than Supernatural. And in general the silly things Sims did, like guests making themselves too at home haha.

I just installed the Complete Collection right now in fact. Does anyone know of a site that still offers free nice starter homes?

I bookmarked this site, but I've never downloaded from them: http://secondhand_sims.tripod.com/20.html There are many places that still offer lots for Sims 1 including TSR and Parsimonious.

I just purchased some Sims 1 games off ebay. I love Sims 2 and Medieval. Sims 3 is okay, but I play 2 more often. I'm looking forward to playing 1 once it arrives.

I don't play anymore, and haven't played in years.

Still have the entire collection though. Maybe, nostalgia will kick in soon, and I'll install it again.

True.

After all of the fuss about Windows 8, I went out and got a new gaming desktop computer that had Windows 7 Professional installed on it (only 6 were left in stock). Not sure if the Sims 1 will work well with that or not, but my laptop that is also used for gaming, has Vista Home Premium on it.

So, we'll see how things go, should I take the plunge again.

I've started playing the Sims 1 again after discovering the Complete Collection in my local computer shop. So I decided to purchase it and start playing again. The game also reminds me of the The Sims Online which I also use to play many moons ago. I'd really like to see them release that game again!

The Complete Collection installs and runs fine on Windows 7 64 bit too.

I installed The Complete Collection and it was in my laptop with windows vista. I ran as administrator to access the game due to a problem in the neighborhood screen where it loops the loading screen for the first time.

I quite often have the urge to play TS1. I'll start playing it for maybe like, almost an hour at best, and then go straight back to TS2. I feel bad because TS1 is truly a great game, but TS2 was my first sims for PC, and in many ways, TS1 is a huge downgrade from it, so it's hard for me to stay with it. :/

I almost always play Sims 2, but nostaglia for creepy looks and imagination I used in those days takes me back to Sims 1. Also, I like to make sims for SC4's ask a sim features. I like the old graphics ugly looks and the simple range of sim interactions. The large amount of custom objects I had was so beautiful in 2004. Too bad it's 2013.

I do not believe that people are ignoring you, but that no one knows how to get the game working on Windows 8.

I still play all my Sims games. Hopefully, if I can hold out long enough, I don't need to switch to Windows 8 as even I don't know how it will handle.

Been trying to play The Sims 3 without crashing it...Nope, didn't work.

You know, there was a lot of cool stuff in The Sims 1. I find it odd that with all of the great object creators out there, some of whom have even made objects from the Sims 2 for The Sims 3 and vice versa, that no one has thought to remake all of the cool things from The Sims 1 in The Sims 2 or The Sims 3. I mean c'mon, there's all of these things made for prisons for example, but no one thought to remake the stainless steel sink and toilet from TS1 to go with those TS2/TS3 prisons? There were a lot of cool things exclusive to the console version as well, like the Sonic Shower and the Teppanyaki Table.

I had never tried out The Sims 1 until January. I installed everything and started playing.
I remember how i thought everything was sooo cozy and it looked so nice and loading a househould would take just seconds!
Starting to play i made a sim that i thought was very cute, she got a work as a teacher.

After that things started to go worse, after the second day at work she died in a fire (something went wrong when she cooked or something). So i reloaded, secondly there were cats and dogs all over the place that made a mess in the garden! (I fixed that). I also noticed that she had to go to work EVERY day (oh dear..) and she had no friends, when i tried to interact with people they were like '' Oh hi! Okay, yeah thats great. Uhm.. no.. i don't care.. your weird.. stay of me ''. I sent my sim to an vacation where she had a great time, all the people she interacted with did not like her, maybe Gamma that had a 50+ relationship with her in the end, they later became friends when she arrived home.

Since children can't/ don't dare to say no to adult Sims in this game, i made friends with lots of kids! (That is a bit awkward though).
When she arrived home a bear walked by the house.. did not expect that.

I got tired of her going in and out of that stupid carpool so i tried making her a celebrity. I reached 2 stars (i loved Superstar) but the thing with being a model was a bit hard..
After that i accidently uninstalled the game -_-

I used to play the Sims 1 all the time. I played it so much I missed out on the Sims 2. Then I bought Sims 3 and since then I've not even looked at the case. I do remember it though, it was pretty fun but i prefer the more realistic version of Sims 3

Hi all. Just tried to load TS1 into new computer and got "Unknown error message" and setup ended. Anyone have an idea what to do? Disc is old but not too scratched.

The Sonic Shower and the Flushforce toilet from Sims 1 were definitely remade for Sims 2. I have them in my game.
For those that want:
Sonic Shower (and other stuffs)
Flushforce Toilet

Regarding installation of TS1 Complete Collection on W7, I got it to work but it's a little glitchy and crashes every so often. However, the same can be said for a few other games so it's not unique, and the fact it loads within moments makes the crashing less of a problem than say, TS2 (all EPs/SPs and oodles of CC) doing the same.
As for playing itself, I've not reinstalled it since the last time I had to reset my laptop (March this year), so not recently. I'm having too much fun with TS2 in all honesty.

No need to use my full name, "Selly" will do just fine.

It's a life simulation game, but unlike most games, you don't "lose" or "win," and there is no "right" or "wrong" way to play. Think of it as a virtual dollhouse where you control the lives of the little people within. The game is completely open ended, and you can explore different careers and goals, date, marry and raise a family, etc. I have a friend who almost never plays with the Sims themselves, but spends all his time on the game designing and building houses. As for me, I prefer to play out various life scenarios, be it the playboy or nymph, or the solid loving family, or the dysfunctional freaky family, or the lazy slacker who won't bother finding work, or the homeless nomad who showers at the gym and harvests his daily food.

But at its core, it is a life simulation game. In the PC version, different expansions introduce elements that do change gameplay, such as World Adventures, which brings in a quasi-RPG/strategy feel without removing the life simulation aspect.

I just asked about this. So a sudden crash could possibly be because it's installed on my Windows 7 computer? The only other game that crashes on that pc is Simcity 4 but that is because I have dual core and couldn't fix it as suggested to use only one. It still crashed. If W7 is the cause, I guess I can live with that. Just save often.

No chemicals or GMOs in my sims' food.
