Does adopting a baby fulfill the want to have a baby or is there a different want for sims to adopt a baby?

Hi there! I'm Becky :)
I am currently working on a new Sims 2 series called Dreams.
Please check out the preview: http://www.youtube.com/user/Beckita32?view_as=public
I appreciate likes, subscribers, views, comments, or any feedback. Thanks!

In an unmodded game, they're different wants. If you get TwoJeff's "Have, Not Adopt" then they are the same thing for same sex couples, but still different for opposite sex couples or singles. (If singles can even roll the want to adopt. I don't know if they can or not.)

I just read that having more than one nanny on a lot at a time is a bad idea. What will happen if you do that?

They will fight to the death.

Joke. I've never heard this and I've had multiple nannies on the lot, especially when I had a household of 50+ uncontrollable sims and needed the backup. Didn't see anything weird happening. Outside the normal weirdness, of course.

Early on in Sims 2, I had Stella Terrano and her hubby breeding little aliens like crazy. As in, having both be pregnant with twins at the same time. With what essentially ends up being quads, I usually had two, sometimes three nannies on lot at a time.

However, Mootlida told me that multiple nannies end up being less efficient than just one because two or more will often try to do the same things at the same time. Seems like there was a technical reason why having more than one on the lot is a bad idea too, but I don't remember what that might have been.

I did have one of the nannies walk off with one of the babies once. I've heard of that happening with single nannies too, but still, I stopped hiring more than one at a time after Mootilda's cautionary comments.

Defiantly worth a look. >> http://theoatmeal.com/comics/misspelling

I once had a glitch where nannies kept coming to the house at inappropriate hours for no reason. They typically act like the nuisances they are, bugging the crap out of the little kids.

Simblr.
I'm also on GoS. I go on here for the community, not really for the downloading. Just being honest.

Can you have a business lot with the bandatron selling tickets and stuff on shelves for sale plus a cashier at the same time? Or do those have to be two different types of lots?

I believe so! My first owned lot had the ticket machine going while I also sold stuff from the shelves, and they both functioned fine.

Thanks. It was actually an old post of yours in a recently bumped thread that sparked this question.

What does everyone use for a downtown sub hood these days ? Are people mostly still using the default one ? Just curious, I have not seen alot of downtown subhood downloads.

I use the default, but I haven't gone on my downloading spree yet.

I build my own. Currently I'm using the Takamizu Village (sp?) template, with all my own everything in it.

How do you find out what you have downloaded from MTS when the creator appears to have removed all his/her uploads? For example I am going thru my folder (6mths on & still freaking have too much) & I find something like this: MTS_SolidGoldFunk84_1145879_SGF_Anto84_PookletColors_BINNED. Now in this case I am lucky enough that the creator put that much detail into file name but lots of times there isn't even that...what do you do when you come across an old download that you have no idea what it's for?

There is one from Sims Asylum (need to have an account to see it), someone made Magic Town from TS1 into a Downtown subhood, and Tarlia made Belladonna Cove from AL into a Downtown. Check out the links here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...rhoods#Subhoods

I just have the default one, but I may add the Magic Town one because it looks really cool.

Always on the look out for new custom content! Especially TS3 conversions.

I use meetme2theriver's cleaned Downtown template http://meetme2theriver.livejournal.com/63030.html its a cleaned and fixed version of the one that comes with Nightlife and Mootilda's Hoodchecker generally doesn't find as much junk (especially with the Tricou family).

This sort of thing is what Delphy's Download Organiser was made for. It'll tell you if bt8887thingy_grey.package is a piece of clothing, an object recolour, a blush or anything else, which makes sorting downloads so much easier.

ETA: A question of my own! I was googling around for stuff on the Secret Society when I stumbled across something said it used to be possible to export neighbourhood data from SimPE as a CVS file or something so it could be opened in a spreadsheet. This sounds intriguing and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about that. Did it stop being supported after a particular expansion? Or with the right version of SimPE, would I possibly be able to get this magic to work?

And if you find it is something that goes in Bodyshop, there is a program that allows you to add in-game tooltips to files based on something you choose, or just add the file name. It's really useful for cleaning out hairs/clothes/makeups and all that. Sadly, I can't remember the name or who made it atm, and I no longer have it. Anyone that knows where it is?
