Uhh... this has never happened to me before.

So with my Physician I went and fed the pit beast some fowl meat, then jumped in. For some reason there was absolutely no fighting between him and the beast, like there always has been with my other Heros.

For a while they seemed to just sit at the bottom, with the beast making all kinds of... odd noises, and little hearts and sparkles floating out of the pit.

Then the physician climbed out unscathed as a giant heart danced through the air...

WTF?

I'm confused. The only other place I've seen those hearts is when two Sims have sex. Did something happen down there that I should know about?

Happens to my sims all the time. I think that if you feed the beast before, the chances of it happening are bigger, but I'm not sure. Anyway, feeding or not, it happens in my game almost as often as a regular fight. Kinda random. When my sims get out they always have a "New Friend" buff, so I like to think that the pit beast maybe love-stricken but all they do down there is having a conversation.

I hate when it happens with sims that my Monarch sentences to death, because when hearts are flying out of the pit it means they are getting out alive for sure. Or are they? Anyone had a sim die after the romantic encounter with the beast?

Aw, how sweet. The beast loves you. Wonder what the children will look like?

Well, he didn't get a "leap of faith" buff, or any buffs at all after climbing out, which I was kind of miffed about since that's why I jumped in the first place... hmm.

I wonder what the doctor's fiancee would think if she found out.

yeah; my monarch went down there and there were hearts and stuff, but then he died and I had to replay the last hour-or-so of my quest. :D

I think I'm missing something. I've never had this happen with the beast and any of my heroes. Did you do anything special aside from feeding it? How many times did the hero feed it? My heroes always get killed.

By the way, when I see the phrase fowl meat, I always giggle, because I ca n't help but think of FOUL meat, as in rotten. I mean Fowl, ANY kind of Fowl comes from a bird, so why didn't the programmers just name the bird, instead of saying Fowl Meat? It's something I'd like to ask them. Has anyone else ever thought about this?

I didn't do anything special, I think it's totally random but feeding the beast might increase the chances. I'm surprised that it happens so rarely to people, because I really experience it a lot. Maybe because I make my sims jump into the pit a lot.

But I can confirm what ouchie said above, that the sim can still die even with the hearts. I didn't know that when I wrote the previous post, because my sims were always getting out alive, but recently I had one sim die.

Whenever I make my hero jump I just make sure the focus bar is all green, I feed the beast once before the jump and that's it. Whatever happens, fight or "love", they usually get out alive.

I think this is exactly why. To make you giggle.

You should have your needs, hunger and energy, completely or mostly completely filled, and have a super high focus (more than 1/2 filled), and be above level 1, and feed the pit beast beforehand, about 1 or 2 times is fine. I always get super prepared so my sim never dies, b/c I did the brick-a-brack quest. The high needs and focus is the most important though xD
