Awsome. =] I've been wanting to download this for ages but never got round to it. (I download too much over the download bill *blushes*) But anyway, i'm glad that you made this, i too, thought that this couldn't be fixed and was actually embedded into the game but, it's obliviously not. After me ranting on all I want to say is thanks! =]

Thanks so much! It drove me crazy that I couldn't *really* see what I was doing in BS. I might actually start to use it now.

Brilliant; I can't believe Maxis made it so dark to begin with... It's amazing that you figured out how to fix it. Thanks a lot!

On the off chance anyone else runs into this problem, a warning from a simmer who is now likely done with the game. In Wes_h's post upthread when he warms to not delete any files other than the ones he names, he seriously means it.

So I popped one of these files into config to test it. Didn't seem to be working, so I closed body shop to try it in my downloads folder which worked brilliantly. Closed body shop but it hung for some strange reason (which happens to me a lot and always has, no big deal killed the process in task manager like I always do). This left some .tmp file in my main Sims directory in "My Documents" which I deleted just like I always do (error logs from Body Shop show up here sometimes when it crashes). I reloaded Body shop to make sure everything was fine and it was far from it. My entire downloads folder was wiped out when I deleted that temp file. Tmp file was still in recycle bin but restoring it did nothing.

I now have the option of redownloading all of my hacks (approx 200), default replacement files (I wouldn't even know where to start), custom skins, clothes, etc. or I can give up on Maxis's buggy code. I think I like the latter option.

Again, just a warning for anyone else who tests this and notices weird files in their Sims folder. Be VERY VERY careful what you delete.

For whatever it's worth, this is a great mod.

You are my hero! You have no idea how irritating the lack of light was for me! I had to squint and zoom and such. Thank you so much!

Thank you! I get so tired of squinting or moving my monitor closer that it actually keeps me from making more sims sometimes. I didn't even think of looking for this, but I'm glad I spend a few minutes skimming over the featured downloads .^_^. Congrats, by the way; it's definately deserved!

Whew! I'm sooo glad I found this again! I had to do some major cleaning myself: my Downloads folder was so clogged full of empty files and rubbish that I ended up deleting 3 Gigs of stuff off my PC. I also accidently deleted this Life Saver as well. I simply cannot live without this modification. again, thanks!

WinRAR can handle zip-files too, Kamaria.
That's a great idea. Very useful for us clothing creators.

Thank you. this was really useful. I've been experimenting with editing faces skin tones. It's nice to see what I'm doing for a change. I might try and tinker with the lighting levels just a wee bit. but this is a million years better than the defaults. Thanks Again
